About Car Sharing With MILES
Miles Mobility separates itself from other car sharing providers by the way it bills its customers. While most car sharing companies charge you by the duration of the rental, MILES charges the driving distance. This has several advantages, as traffic jams or street lights won’t increase the price of your rental. The standard rate for cars is €0.98 per km, while transporters come at €1.98/km + €1 booking fee.
The Miles Mobility app allows you to reserve cars nearby 15 Minutes for free. After 15 minutes, the it costs €0.09 per minute. A short break comes at the cost of €0.29 per parking minute.
Aside from the the rates per kilometer, you can also buy packages of
- 3 hours & 40 km (cars at €34 / transporters at €45)
- 6 hours & 60 km (cars at €39 / transporters at €59 incl. 75 km)
- 1 Day & 50 km (cars at €45 / transporters at €99 incl. 125 km)
If you have reached your limit, you will be charged the rate that best fits you. You don’t need to select a rate before your rental. Find out more about the rates here.
If you take over a car with less than 25% in the tank, you will get a fuel voucher worth €5.
Normally, you’ll pay 98 cents per kilometer + a €1 unlock fee. There are also packages of 3 hours (max. 40 km) for €34 or 6 hours (max. 60 km) for €39. You can also book a car for 1 day (€45), 2 days (€70), or 3 days (€104) with a limit of 50 km per day. No matter which option you choose, fuel, insurance, and parking costs are always included.
Rentals in Germany
You can rent MILES cars or transporters for up to two weeks in the following German cities:

Within each of the cities are certain administrative areas in which you can pick up or drop off your cars. These are often smaller than the city. If you drop off your car on the wrong area, you may need to pay fees up to €250.
Rentals Between Cities
You can also pick up a car in one city and drop it off in another city. The comes with a fee of €19.50 for cars and €49.50 for transporters. However, the following city pairs are free of charge:

- Munich – Augsburg
- Duisburg – Dusseldorf – Wuppertal – Cologne – Bonn

MILES allows you to pick up cars at six German airports for a fixed extra-fee:

Rentals Outside Germany
While you can only pick up MILES cars within German cities, you are allowed to drive in most of Germany’s neighboring countries (and even a bit further to Liechtenstein or Italy). However, It comes with some notable restrictions, for example you are not allowed to use parking garages. MILES won’t ease your fueling or charging costs in foreign countries, as well. You can drive your MILES car to the following countries:

Insurance
All Miles car come with liability insurance. In case of an accident, the insurance will cover the cost for other involved vehicles. You’d still to pay damages on the MILES’ vehicles of up to €900 (€1,000 for transporters) in case you are culpable for the accident. MILES Pass
MILES Pass is a paid subscription that comes with benefits for all that regularly use the car sharing service. The Silver Pass comes at a cost of €15 per month or €149 per year and grants a 10% discount on the charge per kilometer and daily rates; and 50% off airport fees. City-to-city fees are also cut in half.
The Platinum Pass comes at €49 monthly or €499 yearly and gives even larger discounts: 25% off kilometer, 15% off daily rates and an attractive 100% discount on airport, unlocking and city-to-city fees. Your liability waiver is capped at €200 instead of €900. Still, you have to do a lot of rentals until the Platinum Pass pays off.
