3 Destinations on One Ticket: Business Class from Amsterdam to Santiago de Chile with 2 Stops in America for €1,271

Star Alliance airlines Lufthansa, SWISS, Air Canada, Avianca, COPA, Eurowings Discover, and United are currently selling cheap flights from Amsterdam to Santiago de Chile. While getting that flight for €1,101 is a fantastic deal, we thought that it’s even more interesting to add a long stop in each direction, even if it increases the price by roughly €200. That way, you get to explore 3 cities instead of only one and also avoid flying for over 20 hours in a single day. Availability is highest in February.

Finding flights requires a bit of a trial and error searching, but generally, you should be able to find itineraries that have a layover in either Bogotá, Toronto, Houston, or Panama City. Here are some examples:

• Amsterdam – Toronto (2 days) – Santiago – Houston (3 days) – Amsterdam: €1,399
• Amsterdam – Houston (3 days) – Santiago – Houston (4 days) – Amsterdam: €1,405
• Amsterdam – Houston (5 days) – Santiago – Panama City (5 days) – Amsterdam: €1,435
• Amsterdam – Toronto (2 days) – Santiago – Panama City (6 days) – Amsterdam: €1,442

As you can see, the longer the layover, the higher the prices – at least that usually seems to be the case. Flights via Toronto are operated by Air Canada and Houston is United-territory. Flights from Europe to Bogotá and Panama are operated by Lufthansa and Eurowings Discover, respectively. From there, Avianca and COPA will fly you to Santiago de Chile.

Sadly, it doesn’t seem to be possible to stay more than one night in Bogotá (for a reasonable price). Long stopovers in Panama also seem to be limited to the inbound flight. For Houston and Toronto, multiple days seem to be possible in either direction.

Search & Book

We don’t know for how long this deal will remain available. The only clear rule is that you need to stay at least 7 days in Santiago de Chile. The rest is not so clear, so you’ll have to try out various routes and dates until you find something that suits you. Availability starts in December, though the best month seems to be February.

Mileage

Lufthansa, Eurowings Discover, Austrian, and United issue these flights in booking class P, while Avianca and COPA use booking class D. Air Canada uses booking class Z.

We’ll give you an example of the number of miles that you might earn: Amsterdam – Frankfurt – Toronto with Lufthansa, then continuing to Santiago with Air Canada, flying back with United via Houston – that should roughly get you:
