On November 8, the Costa Favolosa sets sail from Marseille, heading to ports in Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, and Italy before returning to Marseille after 11 nights. Currently, an inside cabin on that cruise merely costs £387 (~€453) per person, while an ocean view cabin costs £567 (~€663). Additionally, you’ll have to pay €11 per person and night as compulsory gratuities, bumping the minimum price up to €567.

Guests over the age of 12 must be fully vaccinated. Adults must be bolstered if their second dose was administered over 9 months ago. To embark, passengers over the age of 2 also have to provide a negative antigen test result, no older than 48 hours.

The Ship

The Costa Favolosa was launched in 2011. It features amenities such as an Asian-themed spa, a pool area with a giant film screen, and a Grand Prix driving simulator. The 3,800 passengers onboard will use the Euro as onboard currency.

Across the 14 passenger decks, there are 5 restaurants and 13 bars. The main theatre, where the colourful evening program will be performed for all guests, spans over 3 decks. There are also enough entertainment options for children (e.g. PlayStation competitions) and those who wish to do sports, with a jogging track, multipurpose sports court, sauna, whirlpools, solarium, and swimming pools. The cabins have a shower, air conditioning, satellite TV, a safe, and a radio. You can purchase 3 GB of internet for €99, or pay €5 per day for the social media package.

Getting to Marseille

You can get to Marseille by train from some major cities, such as Madrid, Barcelona, Brussels, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, and of course Paris. There are also various flights to Marseille, such as with Air France from Paris and Amsterdam, British Airways from London, Ryanair from Rome, Madrid, Milan, and Porto, Lufthansa from Munich and Frankfurt, and EasyJet from Bordeaux. The prices for a round trip are somewhere between €25 and €380, depending on the route and fare.
