Dubai: €198 Nonstop Smartwings Flights from Prague (€278 incl. Checked Bag)

Czech airline Smartwings offers very competitive fares from Prague to Dubai. Flights start at €198 for departures in May, but does not include checked bags. Also, there is no food and no personal item allowed (only one piece of hand luggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg). You will also not be able to select a seat, even during check-in.

The Plus fare includes a piece of checked baggage of up to 23 kg and a personal item of up to 3 kg, in addition to the hand luggage of up to 8 kg. You will also be able to select a seat. However, even with this fare, Smartwings will not provide any food. This Plus fare costs CZK 7,062 (~€279) for a roundtrip on SmartWing’s website.

Smartwings uses a Boeing 737MAX for these flights, with roughly 74 cm of legroom. The flights take 6 hours. The flights go to Dubai World Centre airport (DWC) instead of Dubai International (DXB).

Visa & Entry

Most European citizens may enter the United Arab Emirates without a visa and with their passports only to stay there as tourists as well as for business(without work) or visiting purposes for a maximum period of 90 days within 180 days.

Best Time to Visit

In April and May, the temperatures in the UAE are around 30 °C and can even climb to just close to 40 °C. You usually don’t have to expect less than 25 °C, so you can always bring your bathing suit. In June, July and August, 40 °C are standard. The most pleasant travel months are December, January, and February when temperatures rarely climb above 25 °C.

Ramadan

You should know that the United Arab Emirates is a Muslim country. This means that Ramadan, the month of fasting, is strictly celebrated. There are usually no drinks and no food during the day, at least not in public. When booking offers during this period, you should keep that in mind.

    Be advised however, that Smartwings is regularly rated as one of the worst airline companies in the world. The crew is not too well trained, tired… the airplanes are not very comfortable. I would advise to choose a different provider. You will appreciate the couple more EUR spent, trust me.
