Eurowings Discover Business Class to Panama Starting at €1,309 from France

Eurowings Discover Business mit Tisch

Lufthansa is currently selling business class tickets to Panama City from Strasbourg and Paris starting at €1,309, with the main flights being operated by Eurowings Discover and Copa. We were able to find availability from March to May and October to November 2023.

Unfortunately, the deal has a catch: you have to change planes in Punta Cana on the return flight. Copa and Eurowings Discover probably use different terminals there, i.e. you may have to enter the Dom. Rep. to change the terminal.

If that doesn’t put you off, you can read how to book the tickets in the Search & Book section. Because prices below €1,400 are only displayed if you use the multi-stop search.

Info

In the event of a rebooking, Lufthansa will charge €250 plus the price difference. It is also no longer possible to change the origin or destination when rebooking.

You can also use the form below to book tickets directly on Lufthansa’s website. As mentioned above, there are availabilities from March to May and October to November 2023:

Airlines & Layovers

First, you’ll fly with Lufthansa from France to Frankfurt. If you depart from Strasbourg, the short segment will be by bus – there is only an economy class in a typical 2-2 arrangement. From Paris, on the other hand, you fly in Lufthansa Business Class (= free middle seat + meals). Incidentally, departures from Lyon, Toulouse and other cities in France are also possible.

The long-haul route from Frankfurt to Panama will then take place on board an Airbus A330 operated by Eurowings Discover. The business class there is expected to be identical to Lufthansa’s business class (arranged in a 2-2-2 formation). However, a short-term switch to the jets with an Edelweiss configuration would also be possilbe. Either way, you will definitely enjoy the lie-flat seats.

On the way back, you have to fly with Copa to Punta Cana for roughly 2 hours. Depending on the flight, the hop is done either lie-flat (737 Max) or in recliner seats. From Punta Cana to Frankfurt (after the terminal change) you’ll again fly with Eurowings Discover. Some options with Edelweiss via Zurich are also available.

Search & Book

How long the offer is still valid is not stated in the fare rules. There is availability during the following travel periods:

  • March until May 2023
  • October until November 2023

Apparently, there are no restrictions on the minimum or maximum stay. In theory, a stopover is allowed for €75, but we couldn’t find any options with a stopover in Punta Cana.

Finding availability is a bit more difficult. Google Flights shows some, but by no means all, available dates. It’s better to use the ITA Matrix (instructions). Due to the limited computing time, it is best to limit the flight options using the routing codes, e.g. as follows:

As soon as you have found something there, you can switch to the multi-stop search on Lufthansa.com to book (or simply use our own search form above to be redirected). It is important here that you search for the three routes: Paris – Panama | Panama – Punta Cana | Punta Cana – Paris. Then you have to select the segments one after the other as they were displayed in the matrix:

If everything went well, you should see a total price of around €1.3xx in the last step.

Information & Tips for Panama

Panama is the safest and most developed country in Central America. Thanks to the construction of the Panama Canal, the country experienced a strong economic boom and is now considered an important trade destination. Tourists also get their money’s worth thanks to the numerous natural sights and the capital Panama City.

Best Time to Visit

Winter between December and March is the best time for a trip to Panama. This is the dry season where temperatures are moderate and humidity relatively low. However, you should be aware that prices are significantly higher at this time of year. On the Caribbean (East) coast the weather is always a bit rainy and warmer than on the Pacific (West) coast of the country. From May to November there can be strong tropical storms with high wind speeds and massive amounts of precipitation.

Immigration & Visa Requirements

Most EU citizens do not need a visa for tourist stays of up to 180 days and can enter with a passport. Please note that in some cases a return flight ticket or a certificate of onward travel is required on entry. Consult with your country’s state department or ministry of foreign affairs for the exact regulations.

Currency

The national currency of Panama is the Balboa (PAB). It is anchored 1:1 to the US Dollar exchange rate (USD), i.e. one Balboa is always equal to one US Dollar. Many credit cards may charge a foreign currency fee of up to 2% for payment in Balboa or Dollars. Credit cards are accepted relatively widely, and the US Dollar is virtually as widespread as the Balboa.
