During the end of 2023 and in early 2024, you can stay at IHG‘s 4-star Holiday Inn in Portugal‘s Algarve region, for only €48. The refundable rate barely costs more, raising the price to merely €53. Breakfast is also not too expensive, costing roughly €14 per person.

You can choose if you want to have a single bed or twin beds. Either way, the room is at least 16 square metres large, sometimes much larger, and usually offers a good view over Armação de Pêra’s promenade.
December through February, you’ll experience the region’s mild winter, with mostly sunny weather and temperatures between 9-16 °C on most days. If you have time in November or March, the temperatures would even be a little bit higher.
The Hotel
The Holiday Inn Algarve – Armacao de Pera is a 4-star IHG hotel, located only 4 bus stops away from the Praia de Nossa Senhora da Rocha. Among other amenities, the hotel offers its guests a fitness centre.
Previous guests have left good reviews, many of them praising the great location with beach access, the fine rooms, which may not be ultra-modern but are very well cleaned, and the awesome pool and gym. Only the bathrooms were described as out-of-date.
The hotel is set on the beach and close to many restaurants. It’s also close to many sights, such as the Aqualand Algarve, which is less than 25 minutes away by bus. The closest airport is Faro Airport, which is a 45-minute drive away. If you call an Uber, that trip would cost you roughly €50. But it may be wise to rent a car, anyway.

Price Check
Usually, this hotel charges higher prices. In April, for instance, you won’t find a price below €94.
But even during this deal’s travel period, e.g. in January 2024, other 4-star hotels in the region still charge around €140.
