James Bond fans may recognize this hotel, remembering how Pierce Brosnan walked on its roof in Tomorrow Never Dies. But the Atlantic, which is now part of Marriott‘s Autograph Collection, is not only Bond’s go-to hotel in Hamburg. From famous rock stars to heads of state such as Angela Merkel, Justin Trudeau, and Narendra Modi, they all stay at the Atlantic when they’re in town. Currently, the 5-star hotel’s prices are lower than usual, costing roughly €220 from November onward (even €213 on some dates).

Prices around €220 are available from November onward, but you can also stay earlier in the year if you’re willing to pay €10-20 more (not on any date, of course). Feel free to try out some dates, using our search form below, which will redirect you to the hotel’s booking site.

You would be staying in a Superior room with a city view, either with 1 king or 2 twin beds. The room measures 25 square metres and sleeps up to 2 people. Sadly, rooms with a view of the Alster Lake start at €277. Booking a refundable rate also increases the price to at least €237.

From November 22 until late December, you’ll get to see the Christmas Markets. In early 2023, you may experience some snow. The weather usually starts improving a lot in February.

The Hotel

The Hotel Atlantic Hamburg, Autograph Collection is a 5-star hotel, located next to the Kunsthalle and the Binnenalster. Despite being located in the heart of Hamburg, the hotel still offers a (small) indoor pool, spa, and fitness studio. As mentioned before, it is one of Hamburg’s best hotels, and the usual choice for most VIPs staying in the city.

Previous guests have left very good reviews, many of them praising its charm and its views of the Alster. The hotel was also renovated in 2021.

You’d be staying in Hamburg’s St. Georg neighbourhood, meaning that you’re right in Hamburg’s city centre, close to many restaurants and sights, such as the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, which is only a 10-minute walk away.

Price Check

Sadly, though we know that the current price is low, we don’t really have a way to prove it, as all OTAs have also lowered their prices for this hotel. If we look at similar 5-star hotels in Hamburg’s city centre, however, you’ll see that you’re getting a very good price, as e.g. the Fontenay charges €380. While that price seems a bit high, paying €300 for a 5-star hotel in central Hamburg is common.
