Considering that this hotel usually charges over €300 for its refundable rate with breakfast, that’s quite a good deal, even if you can only get this price in November and December.

The Hotel
The Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal is an elegant 4-Star hotel on Venice’s Grand Canal, very close to Caffè Florian and the Museo Correr. A highlight is eating a buffet breakfast on the terrace with a good view of the gondolas and vaporettos. The rooms are also said to be very nice.
Previous guests have left very good reviews, many of them complimenting the beautiful rooms (stating that they were spotless clean), the fantastic atmosphere, and the magnificent views of the canal.
The hotel is located in the San Marco neighbourhood, meaning that it is extremely close to many sights. Saint Mark’s Basilica, for instance, is only a 5-minute walk away. You can also take a vaporetto only 3 minutes away from the hotel to cross the canal, as to quickly get to sights that are directly on the other side, such as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. You also won’t have any trouble finding a restaurant within minutes. As the airport isn’t exactly close to the city centre, you’ll have a drive of roughly 20 minutes.

Usually, a refundable rate with breakfast at this hotel would cost between €335 – €375, while Secret Escapes only charges £176 (~€205). That means that you’re saving roughly 40% by booking through Secret Escapes, on top of getting some minor additional perks, such as the welcome drink.
