Travelzoo currently has a deal for the Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg in Paris. The rate that they offer is roughly half as expensive as the usual rate, costing only €139 per night + a €2 tourist tax per person and night. In addition to accommodation in the Deluxe Room, you’ll also get breakfast and a free bottle of wine. Furthermore, the booking can be cancelled up to 7 days before arrival.
This deal is available on the French Travelzoo website. If you don’t speak French, we recommend that you use a browser that can translate the site for you. Once you’ve bought the voucher, you’ll be able to view it on the English Travelzoo site as well. Redeeming the voucher at the hotel is also possible in English.
The voucher can be redeemed for stays until February 28, 2023, except during the following dates:
- April 1-2
- May 16-19
- September 8-12
- December 29-31
Here’s how it works: You buy a Travelzoo voucher for one night and one for each additional night if you want to stay longer. You have until March 2, 2022 to buy as many vouchers as you want. Afterwards, you reserve your desired date directly at the hotel (phone or email), using the voucher. Of course, it could be that the hotel has no availability on the dates you want. In any case, you can simply return the voucher to Travelzoo until February 28, 2023, and your money will be refunded. If you have already redeemed the voucher, you can still cancel the reservation up to 7 days before arrival.
If you’re unsure about how many nights you’re going to stay, simply buy a few extra vouchers. Once you’ve decided, you can just get a refund for the ones you bought in excess.
The Hotel
The 4-star Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg is located between the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Jardin des Plantes on Boulevard Saint-Michel. It was awarded the Traveller’s Choice 2021 on TripAdvisor.
The hotel has received very good reviews from previous guests, most of them complimenting the proximity to public transit and the friendly and professional staff, especially at the front desk. However, some complained about the size of the rooms, especially the bathrooms being very small.
Located in the Val-de-Grâce neighbourhood, you’re within walking distance of a lot of sights and have a lot of public transit options to get to any part of the city quite quickly. Merely the number of restaurants within walking distance is below-average. Overall, however, this is a good location for you to stay. The Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, for instance, is less than 20 minutes away by foot.
Price Comparison
Even if we simply take a look at what a Classic room costs at this hotel, you’d quickly end up paying between €240 and €275 for a refundable rate with breakfast. The Deluxe room that you’d be getting would even add another €45 to those prices. Basically, with this Travelzoo deal, you’re paying less than what a Classic room without breakfast would cost with a non-refundable rate.
