The IHG group rolled out a new sale for British, Irish and German hotels. The company offers a 10%-25% discount on the best flexible rate. Unfortunately, the discount eliminates all flexibility options, meaning that this sale basically gives you a saver rate.
The promotion runs until July 12, 2023 for stays before June 24, 2024.
IHG runs the following brands and chain hotels among others:
While the most chains participate in the sale, you cannot get the discount at Six Senses Hotels, Resorts, & Spas, Iberostar Beachfront Resorts and Mr and Mrs Smith hotels.
Members of the company’s loyalty program IHG One Rewards get an additional discount on top. Signing up for the program is free. Members also enjoy a longer travel period going June 23, 2024, instead of September 30, 2023, for non-members.
All promotional stays are qualifying stays, members will earn points and benefits.
Search & Book
You can search from the promotion page as it already preselects the discount. However, we’d suggest using the home page and selecting the Best Available rate to show what is actually the cheapest. Here are some examples for decent prices during the promotion:
- Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt Airport at €61 (instead of €82 flex)
- Hotel Indigo Düsseldorf at €86 (instead of €115 flex)
- InterContinental Berlin at €137 (instead of €193 flex)
- Holiday Inn Express Birmingham Snow Hill at €71 (instead of €91 flex)
- InterContinental Edinburgh at €182 (instead of €231 flex)

Bottom Line
This is a pretty average by IHG. While the extended travel period (for members) is interesting and the discounts are pretty decent, it really loses much of its appeal by being non-refundable. How wants to prepay room for May 2024, no matter how cheap it is? The limitation to three European countries does not make it better.
