IHG One Rewards, the loyalty program of IHG (InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Indigo, …) is currently running a promotion that makes it substantially easier for you to reach Gold or Platinum status, which includes a free drink at a hotel bar. After signing up for the promotion, you have 90 days to stay two nights to gain Gold or five nights to gain Platinum Elite status until December 31, 2024(!).
You can register for this promotion until April 30, 2023. If you’re asked for an offerCode during registration, enter 89938
. Each night has to have been booked directly through IHG and cost at least US$30 (~€28). Once you’ve reached your status threshold, it’ll be valid until December 2024.
All you need to participate is an IHG Rewards account and registration at the link above. You have to stay two nights within 90 days of registration to gain Gold status. After three more nights, you will be bumped up to Platinum.
Platinum Elite Benefits
As a Platinum Elite member, you would get these advantages:
- 60% bonus points
- Complimentary room upgrades
- Early check-in
- Welcome gift (points or snack/drink)
Conclusion
IHG has revamped its loyalty program last year. Even if the Platinum Elite status only offers very vague and limited benefits, most IHG hotels do a marvellous job catering to your wishes, even if it’s just the second-highest tier. While not as good as their promotion last summer, their current challenge still represents an easy way towards a useful status.
If you’re going to spend some time at an IHG hotel within the following months, there’s literally no downside to signing up for this promotion. However, don’t forget to book your stay directly through IHG’s website:

Da braucht man aber einen Promo Code. Oder habe ich was übersehen
