Barbados: KLM Flights Starting at €380 From the UK, Switzerland, & Poland (w/o Luggage)

Bottom Bay Barbados

Some months ago, KLM announced a couple of new routes to tropical destinations, launching three weekly flights to Bridgetown on the Caribbean island of Barbados. These flights are now being sold at a very cheap price. You can either depart from Switzerland, the UK, or Poland. Please note, that the cheapest fare only includes a piece of hand luggage (55 x 35 x 25 cm) and a personal item (40 x 30 x 15 cm). The Economy Standard fare including a checked bag (up to 23 kg) is available for a surcharge of roughly £60 (~€69).

Info

If you no longer want to travel, all bookings with travel departing before March 2022 can be canceled free of charge. For all travel dates (even after March 2022), the rebooking fee is waived, but the price difference will have to be paid.

You can use our search form below to book these flights directly at KLM’s website:

You can fly from the following cities:

You’ll first fly to Amsterdam. From there, the long-haul flights are operated by Airbus A330 aircraft, featuring a 2-4-2 configuration in Economy Class. You can expect a seat pitch of about 79 cm. On the flight back, you’ll have a short stop in Port of Spain, but you probably won’t even have to leave the plane.

According to the fare rules, this offer is valid until March 21, 2022 for travel until September 30, 2022, though there doesn’t seem to be much availability after March 2022. A minimum stay of 4 days (or a night from Saturday to Sunday) is required. The maximum stay is capped at 3 months.

To find available travel dates, you can use Google Flights. We recommend booking directly on KLM’s website.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
