If you want want to experience long haul business class cabins at little expense, this offer might interest you: Oneworld members Iberia and British Airways currently offer a special treat for members of Iberia Plus or British Airways’ Executive Club. Business class tickets between London and Madrid are currently available at 15,000 avios + taxes.
A few days ago we reported that you can try British Airways’ new Club Suite between Madrid and London-Heathrow for the same price. While these flights are not reguarly available, you can still enjoy British Airways’ Boeing 777 business class or Iberia’s Airbus A340 on this route. Both airlines operate at least one afternoon rotation with widebody planes and therefore with long haul premium cabins.
Taxes and surcharges vary, depending on the country you are booking from and from which airport your journey originates. Adding another leg like DUS-LHR or LIS-MAD usually lowers taxes & surcharges for the Madrid to Heathrow trip.
