Star Alliance member Lufthansa has recently garnered some attention by deploying their Boeing 747 between Frankfurt and Palma de Mallorca in April. In May, Lufthansa continues to serve short-haul routes with long-haul airplanes. With departure from Frankfurt, you can reach Barcelona and Paris onboard the Airbus A330-fleet. On domestic flights to Hamburg, the 747 takes over five rotations.

Since the flight leaves from Frankfurt before the European morning bank arrives and Hamburg has no possible Lufthansa connection flights, it’s rather difficult to purchase tickets from other European countries with a sensible itinerary.

Since these fares are remarkably pricey for a European one-way ticket, we recommend booking either a roundtrip or adding a second leg. Even combining it with LH 9 from Hamburg (operated by a Boeing 747-400) is possible.
European Widebody Combination
It is actually cheaper (and more rewarding) to combine the flights from/to Barcelona with an additional European flight. The 747 flight from Hamburg is the best option.
