If you’re looking for a cheap 4-star hotel in Europe, Accor‘s Mercure Gdansk Stare Miasto is definitely among the best options. You can stay there for merely €33 per night, and even a refundable rate only costs €39.
This price is available on many dates in December. You’ll also find similar prices in October and November.

You would be staying in a Standard room. Furthermore, you can decide if you want a Queen bed or 2 individual twin beds. If you wish to have breakfast, that will increase the total price by roughly €12 – €16, meaning that you’d be paying less than €10 per person for breakfast – not a bad deal!

As it’s winter in December, you’ll experience freezing temperatures. October and November are not as cold, though, with temperatures mostly around 7 °C.
The Hotel
The Mercure Gdansk Stare Miasto is a 4-star hotel, located very close to the Amber Museum and the European Solidarity Centre. The building has a fitness centre, a boutique store, and rooms with TVs.

Previous guests left very good reviews, many of them praising the friendly and helpful staff, the pleasant atmosphere, and the nice views of the yard area.
Due to its quite central location, the hotel is very close to many sights, such as the Museum of the Second World War, which is less than 10 minutes away on foot. There are also plenty of restaurants right around the corner. Though the airport is not very close to the city centre, at least you’re only 5 minutes away from the 210 bus, which takes you to the airport in roughly 40 minutes.
Price Check
While the Mercure in Gdansk is currently charging less than €40 for those months, it usually has much higher prices, e.g. in September you’d be paying €55, and in February prices start at almost €70, i.e. over twice as much.
