Secret Escapes is currently selling rooms at the NH Venezia Santa Lucia for only £85 (~€98) in November and December 2022. This price includes daily breakfast and a bottle of prosecco per stay. Furthermore, it is fully refundable up to 8 days before arrival. Located near the Venice train station, you avoid carrying your luggage through Venice. Instead, no matter if you arrive by train or plane, you’ll quickly be at your hotel.
You would be staying in a standard room, which is 15 m² large. The room has a large flat-screen TV and air conditioning, though you probably won’t be needing the latter.
In November and December, you could experience the acqua alta periodic flooding that covers the Piazza San Marco with ankle-deep water. The weather is mostly sunny, with temperatures between 3-8 °C on most days.

The Hotel
The NH Venezia Santa Lucia is a 4-star hotel which was formerly known as the Hotel Bellini. The hotel is known to be among the best hotels near Venice’s train station and is also located close to the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. Furthermore, it is only a 25-minute bus drive away from Venice’s Marco Polo Airport (bus no. 5).
Previous guests have left good reviews of the hotel, many of them saying that the hotel is very nice. The main point of criticism is the horrible air conditioning – a problem that shouldn’t really affect you in November and December.
You’d be staying in the Cannaregio neighbourhood, known for its shopping options, as well as for the Church of Madonna dell’Orto and the Jewish Museum of Venice. There are many restaurants close to the hotel, and also quite a few sights. The Saint Mark’s Basilica is less than half an hour away on foot.
Price Check
While Secret Escapes charges £85 (~€98), you’d be paying roughly €155 for a refundable rate with breakfast on other sites in December. That means that you’d be saving at least 35%. On some dates, you’d save even more: e.g. on December 27, NH charges €191, while you’d still be paying the same cheap price on Secret Escapes.
