The Thai hotel chain ONYX (Amari, Novo, Ozo) is offering a status match to their two highest tier levels. As a Gold or Platinum member, you will enjoy perks such as room upgrades, late check-out, or lounge access at select properties. While ONYX might not be a well-known brand here in Europe, travelers visiting Thailand – where you’ll find most of the chain’s hotels – can definitely benefit from this match!
ONYX will provide a list of loyalty programs that are eligible for their match on the website. But even if you’re holding a status that’s not mentioned, you could still be accepted.
How To
Getting your status match with ONYX is rather simple. Just follow our steps, and you should be upgraded to Gold or Platinum soon.
- Sign up for ONYX Rewards
First things first. You will need an account with the ONYX loyalty program before you can request a match. Just visit the website and register. By the way: currently, you’ll receive 1,000 points as a welcome bonus.
- Register for the Tier Match Program
Once you’ve signed up and are an ONYX Rewards member, you can register via this link.
- Prepare all Necessary Documents
In order to match a current status with another program, ONYX will want to see proof. This should be a picture or screenshot of your membership card, as well as a screenshot of your account summary.
- Request the Match
Once you’ve signed up for the program and have all the photos and screenshots at hand, you can click this link and fill out the form that will open up.
- Wait for the Response
Now, all there’s left to do is wait. It shouldn’t take too long until you receive an answer from ONYX rewards if your status has been upgraded or not.

Once you’ve successfully been matched, your status should be valid for 12 months, starting from the date you’ve joined to program. After that period, you have to requalify, which could be rather tough if you’re actually not a frequent guest of the brand’s hotels.
- Gold: 15-39 night or 5 stays per year
- Platinum: 40+ nights or 10 stays per year
Bottom line
If you’re planning on traveling to a region that offers one of ONYX’s hotels, the match is an excellent offer and a great opportunity to get to know a smaller hotel chain. And even if you don’t think you will stay at one of the hotels of the chain, it can never hurt to have more gold and platinum memberships than needed. However, such a status match is typically once in a lifetime.
