Perth, Australia: €1,975 Qatar Airways Business Class from Venice (Qsuites)

Qatar QSuite

Oneworld member Qatar Airways offers one of the world’s best business class products. Currently, the airline is selling tickets for a premium ride from Europe to Australia with a single stop in Doha for as little as €1,970. While this is quite a good price, it comes with a catch. The Australian government already announced that it probably won’t open for tourism until late 2021.

Warning

Qatar’s business class deals no longer include lounge access and seat reservation!

Since the travel period is not limited, you may still find a way to benefit from the low prices. Even better, Qatar Airways has one of the most generous set of rebooking rules, waiving change fees and the fare difference if a ticket within the same booking class is available for travel up to December 31, 2021.

We have compiled all possible travel dates between June and September 2021 in our availability calendar. It will forward you to qatarairways.com with your selected flight dates. If you are looking for departures before June or after September 2021, we recommend Google Flights.

Qatar Airways advertises an Airbus A350-900 between Italy and Doha and an A350-1000 between Doha and Perth. Since the latter airplanes are all equipped with Qsuites, you have the chance to experience one of the world’s best business class products on two 11+ hour flights.

Warning

We expect further shakeups in the airline industry over the following months. Some services might be cancelled, aircraft changed or downgraded. The schedule we describe may very well change.

Search & Book

According to the fare rules, it applies for all flights between Venice and Perth that include a minimum stay of five days in Australia, but don’t exceed a month down under. It remains valid until withdrawn by the airline. Availability is fairly good at time of writing.

We recommend using our availability calendar or Google Flights to find suiting flight dates and heavily recommend booking directly with the airline. By going this way, you can save time, money and nerves if rebooking the flight becomes necessary.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
