Qatar Companion Sale: Business at €1,293, Economy at €386

Qatar Aircraft

We’ve recently promoted the awesome Lufthansa & Swiss companion sale from Italy. This time it’s Qatar Airways selling discounted tickets flights in business and economy class from Zagreb to multiple destinations worldwide. The only condition: you can’t get these fares when traveling alone. But if your group consists of 2 to 9 people, you’re good to go!

Depending on the travel class you choose, the possible destinations differ. Here’s a list of the most exciting spots that Qatar will fly you to:

Business Class

Economy Class

No matter where you’re going, your first stop will always be Qatar’s hub in Doha. Business class passengers can access the Al Mourjan Business Class Lounge. But even if you won’t have access to the lounge, the airport should offer enough distractions to keep you busy during your layover.

Search & Book

Qatar will be running this sale until October 25th. And that’s the last date that you could buy the discounted tickets. But don’t rely on the fare rules here. Cheap seats might sell out way earlier. The offer is valid for travel commencing on or after October 21st. The minimum stay requirements are 7 days. And you can spend up to 1 month at your chosen destination.

To find your perfect flight, start by using Google Flights (instructions). All fares and connections will be displayed correctly. Just don’t forget to add at least 2 travelers to your itinerary. Otherwise, Google will only return higher prices.

Once you know when you’d like to travel, use our Travel Dealz flight search or just visit Qatar’s website for booking. As always, we’d recommend booking with the airline.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Mileage

Tickets for flights in business class should be issued in booking class R. This will get you an earning rate of up to 125% with most Oneworld frequent flyer programs.

Naturally, economy class flights will not earn you as many miles. But you will still be credited with 25% of the actual distance traveled for booking class O.
