Scoot: €70 Dreamliner Round Trips Between Athens & Berlin (€148 with Luggage)

Scoot Begrüßung Berlin-Tegel

The pandemic-related low demand on long-haul routes is forcing airlines to get creative. So in the past few months, we’ve seen the addition of a few new Fifth Freedom routes. This freedom gives airlines the right to carry passengers between third countries. A popular example was the Frankfurt – Madrid route with LATAM until it was discontinued in 2020.

Low-cost airline Scoot (a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines) is now flying the Singapore – Berlin route with a stopover in Athens. There, too, the inner-European segments can be booked individually. After inflated entry-level prices, Scoot is now offering quite cheap tickets: a return flight between Athens and Berlin costs €70 in economy class.

A 20 kg suitcase costs a whopping €78 extra. The offer is only worthwhile if you can manage with hand luggage (54 x 38 x 23 cm) + a personal item (40 x 30 x 10 cm). Both pieces of hand luggage together may weigh a maximum of 10 kg.

Info

At Scoot, all flights until March 31, 2022, can be rebooked once without a rebooking fee. However, the fare difference applies if the new ticket is more expensive than the old one. More on this here on the Scoot website. If you book with a third-party provider, they may charge additional fees.

Our calendar displays all available dates for trips of 5 to 28 days:

Scoot uses Boeing 787 Dreamliners for this route. The distance between the seats is around 76 cm. Unfortunately, the prices in premium economy (€360 for a roundtrip) are not exactly attractive.

The Athens – Berlin route and vice versa is currently scheduled until September 2022, but cheap prices are only available until May 2022. There are always three flights a week, though the flights from Athens only seem to be available on Sunday – at least for the cheapest price. The €70-flights are available from January onward. You can easily find dates in our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights (instructions). We then recommend booking directly on Scoot’s website for €70.

Mileage

The tickets are issued in booking class O. Merely Singapore KrisFlyer will give you 224 miles for one of these round trips.

Do we know if they routinely weigh the hand luggage? 😉
