The Ship

Sky Princess entered into service in late 2019 as part of the Royal class. It can carry 3,660 passengers, whom are looked after by 1,346 crew members. Across its 19 decks, you can find more than a dozen restaurants and bars, both free and speciality. Every age is welcome, as adults are able to escape to the Sanctuary while the kids are looked after in the Treehouse, Lodge or Beach House depending on their age.

As it’s a new ship, there is no lack of entertainment options. Of course, there is a big theatre, an outdoor movie theatre and a handful of events, such as art auctions or trivia. If these are not for you, you can use one of the three big pools or the many jacuzzis. You can play on the Sports Court, burn the calories from the lunch in the gym or bet away your salary in the Vegas-style casino.

Flights

We recommend arriving a day before your embarkation date, so you will still catch the ship even if something goes wrong.

Our European followers could consider the following flights:

  • Berlin – Fort Lauderdale on March 17 with Norse Atlantic Airways at €199 (Economy Standard at €296)
  • Barcelona – Miami on March 17 with Royal Air Maroc at €280 (Includes two checked bags)
  • London – Miami on March 17 with TAP Air Portugal at €284 (Includes a carry-on)

There aren’t many cheap flights for our American readers, although a TAP fare from London to New York with a Porto layover for €264 (~US$284) is a pretty good value. If you add a bag, the price will increase to €317 (~US$341).

If the flights listed above don’t fit your plans, you can use our flight search box below that will forward you to either the Travel-Dealz flight search tool or to the Go2 tool where you can select dozens of airlines’ websites.

The Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Miami is between November and May. At this time of year the weather is warm but moderate and the water temperatures are perfect for swimming. During the Hurricane Season from the beginning of June to the end of November, hurricanes and tropical storms with strong winds and extremely high precipitation can occur.
