Both SkyTeam members Air France and KLM are offering a great deal from various Italian cities to Rio de Janeiro. You can depart from any of the big Italian airports, specifically Turin, Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan and Naples. Prices start at €1,255 for the roundtrip.
There are availabilities from February to October 2022. Two pieces of 32 kg luggage are included as well as lounge access, Sky priority and further benefits.

Tickets are fully changeable and refundable if you book via KLM before March 31 and fly June 30, 2022. Travel after June 30, 2022, is only changeable but not refundable any more. If you decide to change your tickets, the fare difference is applicable according to the covid goodwill measures.

Routing and Seats
You can fly with either KLM or Air France to Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, you will have to change in Amsterdam or Paris. Flights are usually operated with a Boeing 777 or Boeing 787 (the latter one only with KLM).
Please note that Air France is using their old Boeing 777 until at least March 2022. The business class in these old airplanes does not offer lie flat business class seats. You recognize the old seats when booking by seeing a 2-3-2 seat configuration. We suggest avoiding these flights as the experience will be much worse than with the new business class.

According to the fare rules these flights can be booked until February 17, 2022 for departing flights before October 31, 2022.
For the best prices, the minimum stay is at least 10 days in Rio de Janeiro. Otherwise fares are about €100 more expensive.
Finding possible dates is a bit harder than usually. Google Flights only displays €100 more expensive fares. Even the KLM best price search doesn’t show proper fares. So, you can also just browse through the websites of KLM or Air France and check for possible dates there.

Information & Tips for Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is the second largest but especially for tourists probably the most important city in Brazil. Famous for its carnival, Cristo Redentor statue, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Copacabana, Rio offers visitors a variety of experiences and sights.
The city has excellent flight connections to Europe. Fares are generally around €400 to €600 with the occasional steal of less than €400.
The Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Rio is between December and March. At this time of year, the weather is warm but moderate, and the water temperature is perfect for swimming. Carnival takes place in February.
From the airport to the city
Express buses with air conditioning and lots of space for your luggage will take you to the city in about half an hour for the equivalent of €3. The taxi ride costs between €14 and €25. Make sure that you only take licensed taxis!
