The Lufthansa Group Airlines (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss), Thai Smile, and Singapore Airlines are selling premium economy tickets to Phuket for only SEK 8,369 (~€705). As these airlines don’t offer direct flights from Europe to Phuket, you’ll have to endure two layovers – one in Europe, the other in Asia. On the bright side, you get to sit in comfortable seats and bring 2x 23 kg of luggage.
Our calendar displays all available dates for trips of 6-28 days. Once you’ve selected the dates that suit you best, you can click on the blue button to be redirected to Lufthansa’s booking site:
By the way, you can also fly from Paris for €880. Depending on where you live, that may be a cheaper option.
After flying economy class to one of the Lufthansa Group’s hubs (e.g. Vienna or Zurich), you would fly premium economy to an Asian Star Alliance hub (e.g. Bangkok or Singapore), from where either Thai Smile (in premium economy) or Singapore Airlines (in economy class) will fly you to Phuket.
Search & Book
The fare rules state a minimum stay requirement of 6 days (or a Sunday). These flights can’t be cancelled, but can be rebooked without having to pay a rebooking fee.
You can find all available dates from Stockholm for trips of 6-28 days on our calendar above. For longer trips or flights from Paris, feel free to use Google Flights. The flights can be easily booked on Lufthansa’s website.
The flights between Stockholm and the European hub are issued in booking class Y. The long-haul premium economy flights are issued in booking class N. Thai Smile premium economy flights are issued in booking class U, while Singapore Airlines’ economy class tickets are issued in booking class B. To give you an example, here’s what you’d roughly get for flying via Vienna and Bangkok in both directions:
- 13,182 Miles on Thai Royal Orchid Plus
- 13,152 Miles on Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
- 13,002 Miles on Aegean Miles+Bonus
- 12,900 Award Miles + 1,980 PQP on United MileagePlus
- 12,900 Award Miles + 12,100 Tier Miles on Avianca LifeMiles
- 12,500 Miles on Egyptair Plus
- 12,100 Miles on Asiana Club
- 12,100 Miles on Ethiopian ShebaMiles
- 12,100 Miles on EVA Infinity MileageLands
- 12,100 Award Miles on LATAM Pass
- 12,100 Miles on TAP Miles&Go
- 12,100 Miles on Copa ConnectMiles
- 12,100 Points on SAS EuroBonus
- 12,100 Miles on Singapore KrisFlyer
- 11,302 Miles on Air Canada Aeroplan
- 8,950 Miles on ANA Mileage Club
- 3,274 Award Miles + 13,002 Tier Miles on Miles&More
- 3,274 Award Miles + 200 Points on Miles&More 2024
Sadly, many programs don’t give any miles for SWISS premium economy flights yet, as that class is quite new and the majority of the Star Alliance’s frequent flyer programs haven’t updated their tables yet. For now (to our knowledge), you’re only sure to earn miles on United MileagePlus, LATAM Pass, and Miles&More.
Hotel prices in Phuket usually start at roughly €20, depending on the hotel category. Whichever category and hotel you opt for, make sure to get the best price! Our recommendation is to search on booking.com, or even on our own Travel-Dealz hotel search:
Information & Tips for Phuket
Phuket is a southern province and also the largest island of Thailand in Southeast Asian. While Bangkok is more of a tourist destination, Phuket offers a lot of recreational options on the beach and is located in the Indian Ocean rather than the Gulf of Thailand.
Although Phuket is not always as easy to reach as Bangkok and it will often take an additional layover to get there, you can combine your beach holiday with a city trip to Bangkok. You can first book your flights to Bangkok and then separate (cheap!) flights from Bangkok to Phuket if you really can’t find a good deal from Europe.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to travel is from November to February. During this time it is dry and comparatively cool but of course still ideal for a beach holiday. The rainy season runs from mid-May to October.
From/to the airport
From the airport to different cities/resorts on the island, it is best to take a taxi (or Uber). Bus connections are cheaper but also much slower.

Information & Tips for Thailand
Thailand is an increasingly popular holiday destination for Europeans – both beach and party tourists get their money’s worth in the South Asian tropical state.
Whether Bangkok, Koh Samui or Phuket, Thailand offers multi-faceted cities and quiet beaches. Also, the country is always easy to reach from Europe. Especially to Bangkok, there is almost always at least a good deal!
Best Time to Visit
While hot summer temperatures prevail the whole year long in tropical Thailand, the best travel time is definitely the winter from November to February. Thanks to the northwest monsoon it doesn’t get warmer than 33 degrees. In summer the temperatures can quickly reach 40 degrees. The rainy season also starts in June and will last until October – high humidity is what you’ll have to prepare for!
Entry & Visa
Most EU citizens do not need a visa for stays up to a length of 30 days. The entry permit can be extended by another 30 days before expiration by local immigration authorities.
The national currency of Thailand is the Baht (THB) which is divided into Satang. One Euro is about 40 THB.
