Bangkok, Hong Kong, Phuket: €1,419 Qatar Airways Business Class from Stockholm Until March 2022

Qatar Airways QSuite

Oneworld member Qatar Airways offers an attractive sale to East Asian destinations Hong Kong & Bangkok. Roundtrips from Stockholm to Hong Kong start at SEK 14,821 (~€1,280). Tickets to Thailand’s capital Bangkok are even cheaper, starting at SEK 14,332 (~€1,237). For SEK 14,691 (~€1,268), the airline will take you to Phuket and back in their amazing business class. All of these connections require a change of planes in Doha.

Info

Qatar Airways offers a full refund in the original payment form for all bookings made before June 30, 2021.

Worldwide travel restrictions are in place to slow the spread of Covid-19. We strongly recommend gathering detailed information about the travel and quarantine restrictions that apply to your desired origin and destination.

A good start is the International Air Transport Association (IATA) website. It provides current updates on a country’s immigration policies. Even better, the Covid-19 Travel Regulations Map is one of the most useful tools you can find.

Warning

This is a Qatar Airways Classic Business Class fare. The quoted prices no longer includes lounge access and seat selection.

Availability for these fares is excellent: From October 2021 onwards, you can find them almost daily (except during the Christmas holidays) on flights to Bangkok and Hong Kong. The tickets to Phuket are not as broadly available at the cheapest price, but you will still find multiple flights weekly until March 2022.

Qatar Airways will first fly you to its hub in Doha. Airbus A350 aircraft operate flights between Doha and Bangkok, making Thailand’s capital a hit-and-miss Qsuite destination. Most flights to Hong Kong are advertised as Qsuite services, as are the flights to Phuket.

Warning

We expect further shakeups in the airline industry over the following months. Some services might be cancelled, aircraft changed or downgraded. The schedule we describe may very well change.

Search & Book

According to fare rules, tickets will be sold until further notice. The travel period is not restricted. You’ll have to wait at least five days until you can fly back to Europe. Your stay may not exceed one month. Two stopovers are free.

Use Google Flights (instructions) to see when flights are available and how much they will cost. You can also use our calendar above, which will then redirect you to Qatar Airways’ website. You can also look at online travel agencies via our Travel-Dealz flight search, to save roughly €70 (~SEK 811).

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Mileage

Tickets for all flights will be issued in booking class R. This means you will earn 125% of the miles you actually traveled on most Oneworld frequent flyer programs. Here’s an estimation of what you will be credited with for a roundtrip to Bangkok:

  • 27,684 Award Miles + 15,380 Elite Qualifying Miles on Alaska Mileage Plan

Not only is Qatar Airways an airline with a five-star Skytrax-rating, but it is also considered to offer one of the best business class experiences worldwide.

Most flights have seats, that can be converted into flat beds. In the Boeing 787-Dreamliner, they are even in a 1-2-1 alignment. Airplanes that have the QSuites even offer small, private suites that are usually only available in First Class:

Qatar QSuite
The QSuite offers as much privacy as possible
Qatar Airways Business Class 840x630
