Johannesburg: €543 / £474 Swiss Premium Economy Flights from London (with Zurich Stopover)

Swiss Premium Economy Sitz

Star Alliance members SWISS and Lufthansa offer premium economy flights from London to Johannesburg in South Africa starting at £474 (~€549) with an overnight stop in Zurich. If you aren’t keen on paying for a hotel night in Zurich, you can still fly for £618 (~€716). In either case, you can bring two checked bags of up to 23 kg.

Unfortunately, the lowest prices only apply to four departure dates in June 2023. However, the fare without a stopover is available from late November to next Summer.

Here are the travel dates for the fare with the stopover for stays up to 28 days:

You would first fly an Airbus A320 (3-3 seating) or A220 family (2-3 seating) aircraft in economy class to Zurich. Then you would fly SWISS’ Airbus A340 to Johannesburg, which has a 2-3-2 configuration.

Search & Book

The fare rules don’t specify any expiration date. A minimum 8-night stay applies, and so does a maximum one-year stay. Availability isn’t great, with only four departure dates for the lowest prices. However, if you can spare a bit more and would avoid a stopover, you can find plenty of dates for under €750.

You can use our links above to check the dates. They will redirect you to Lufthansa’s website where you can book your trip safely. You can also check dates on Google Flights, although it’s a bit harder as it considers the route as round-trips.
