IHG is one of the most popular and biggest hotel chains, with thousands of hotels worldwide. But we wanted to have a look at what the chain has to offer in its home country – the United Kingdom. In fact, there are over 350 IHG hotels in the UK – and these are the 10 cheapest:
- Holiday Inn Express Warwick – Stratford-upon-Avon, starting at £39 (~€46)
- Holiday Inn Express Cambridge, starting at £42 (~€49)
- Holiday Inn Express Newcastle Gateshead, starting at £43 (~€50)
- Holiday Inn Express Inverness, starting at £43 (~€50)
- Holiday Inn Express Southampton – West, starting at £43 (~€50)
- Holiday Inn Express Bedford, starting at £43 (~€50)
- Holiday Inn Express Hamilton, starting at £45 (~€53)
- Holiday Inn Express Lincoln City Centre, starting at £47 (~€55)
- Holiday Inn Express Taunton East, starting at £47 (~€55)
- Holiday Inn Express Perth, Scotland, starting at £48 (~€56)
We do not claim that these hotels charge that price throughout the entire year. Also, we may have missed a hotel due to it being more expensive on all dates that we checked.
Here you can see all mentioned hotels on a map:
Conclusion
While the most expensive hotel on this list is still cheaper than the cheapest UK Hilton, almost none of these hotels have a strong appeal. Newcastle and Inverness may be halfway popular destinations, but who’s dying to spend their holiday in Warwick or Perth, especially during the winter (when most of these prices can be found)?
At least all of these Holiday Inn Express hotels will give you a free breakfast in the morning. Overall, these hotels are good options to earn cheap status nights if your IHG status is at risk or collect points for their current 10,000 bonus points promotion – but not much more.
