New York, Los Angeles, Orlando & Fort Lauderdale: €1,502 Star Alliance Business Class from Dublin

Polaris Business Class 767

Star Alliance carriers Air Canada, United Airlines and Lufthansa currently team up to bring you discounted business class rides from Dublin to New York and Florida. You can reach Florida’s them park paradise Orlando for as little as €1,502, while flights to Newark come with the price tag of €1,581.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Lufthansa with your selected flight dates. Most flights to Orlando are not available on the airline’s website, so you have to search them on Skyscanner.

During the travel period, you can also reach Boston for €1,600. In that case, all flights will be operated by Air Canada via Montreal. While Google Flights is blind to this fare, it seems like it is available as early as August (during the summer holidays) and also around Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Both flights have plenty of routing options, so we present the most common ones. Almost all itineraries start with United’s nonstop service from Dublin to Newark aboard a Boeing 787. You can expect lie-flat-seats in a 1-2-1 pattern in United’s Polaris cabin. Flights to Florida see you seated in domestic business class on United’s narrow body fleet, with recliner seats in a 2-2 seating pattern. To Los Angeles, you even continue your journey in a lie-flat-seats.

Most returns from Florida feature a change of planes in Toronto. Once again, the shorter flight features 2-2 recliners, while the transatlantic trip features lie-flat-seats. Returning from Newark, you may catch a nonstop inbound, too. However, in most cases you will first fly to Frankfurt or Zurich before returning to Ireland in Lufthansa’s or SWISS’ European business class (regular 3-3 seating with a blocked middle seat and better service). The same inbounds are available from Los Angeles.

The Canadian Star Alliance member Air Canada has three business class versions: an old one, which is mostly disappearing, and two modern versions. We can recommend the flights in the Boeing 787, as you’ll be guaranteed a business class experience which is up to the current expectations. Travel-Dealz founder Johannes flew from Copenhagen to Toronto with the 787-Dreamliner and was generally very satisfied.

United has clearly upgraded its business class in the past years since they’ve equipped their long-haul fleet with the Polaris business class seats, offering direct aisle-access to all seats. Passengers will enjoy high privacy and comfort, to a level which barely any other airline can keep up with.

Search & Book

These tickets are on sale without a travel or sales period. A minimum stay of one night from Saturday to Sunday is necessary to get the cheapest tickets.

Google Flights helps you find additional flight dates (for all destinations except Boston). Finding a vendor that sells these tickets might be a bit more tricky. While flights to Newark can be reliably purchased from airlines like Lufthansa, you might have to consult OTAs like Expedia or others on Skyscanner to get the discounted premium rides to Florida.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
