Just like other American carriers, Star Alliance member United Airlines has changed its schedule to make nonstop flights between New York and Los Angeles exclusively lie-flat in business class. Roundtrip tickets in both directions are currently available in both directions for as little as US$1,248 (~€1,174). Fares like this are usually just offered by airlines that use domestic first recliner seats on this route.

United’s schedule sees a mixture of Boeing 757-200, Boeing 777 and Boeing 787-10 aircraft operates these flights. All planes feature a Polaris style lie-flat seats in their business class section. The 757 lacks direct aisle access for everybody, as it flies a 2-2 pattern up front. The 787 and 777 feature 1-2-1 seating.
