SkyTeam members Air France, KLM and Delta offer cheap flights to Mexico City from various Spanish cities. Although, you need to be quick: the offer expires today. The good amount of departure cities lets you find a suitable connection flight if you are based outside of Spain. Flights don’t include hold luggage.
Mexico doesn’t have any entry regulations.
At KLM & Air France, all tickets can still be rebooked without a change fee, but you will now have to pay the price difference. You can also exchange the flights for a non-refundable voucher, valid for 1 year. Unfortunately, the option to have the value of the voucher paid out to your bank account no longer exists since March 1st. You can read the rules here.
You can depart from these cities for under €400 with a 20-hour maximum travel time.
- From Valencia at €382
- From Bilbao at €382
- From Malaga at €384
- From Barcelona at €388
- From Seville at €391
- From Madrid at €391
You can use our Go2 form below. Once selecting your route and dates, it will redirect you to either KLM’s website or to the Travel-Dealz Flight Search.

You can choose between various onboard products. KLM flies its Dreamliners to Mexico City, while AIr France uses different products. From Madrid and Barcelona, you can also choose Delta’s flight to Atlanta.
Search & Book
According to the fare rules, you need to book today (March 29, 2022). There is a minimum stay of six days or a Saturday night. While the travel dates last until December 15, you can’t travel in the summer. There is little availability in the first period, but autumn offers plenty of availability.
You can also use Google Flights (instructions) to find the best route and dates. After that you can use our Go2 tool: if you set up the bookmark (which takes less than a minute), you can see different prices with one click. On the Go2 main page, you can select either the KLM website or the Travel-Dealz flight search tool. The latter compares different prices and lets you book through OTAs.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Mileage
The exact mileage depends on the routing and the booking site. Here is our example calculation for a flight from Madrid to Mexico City, flying with KLM in one direction and with Air France in the other. The tickets should be issued in booking class V or R:
