LOT Business Class to Tokyo for €1,449 from Spain

Lot Business window rows

The Polish Star Alliance member LOT is currently selling very cheap business tickets to Tokyo-Narita from Madrid and Barcelona. Prices start as low as €1,449, with great availability in April and May, which is a fantastic time to travel to Japan.

Our calendar displays all available dates from both cities for trips of 4-35 days:

You will first fly to Warsaw. From there, you’ll continue to Tokyo-Narita in a Boeing 787. The long-haul flight (with lie-flat seats) is roughly 12 hours long on the outbound, and 14 hours on the inbound. So the business comfort really pays off.

This deal expires on February 27, 2024 (though most availability will probably be gone sooner). The trips have to begin before May 31, 2024 and have to last at least 6 days (or include a Sunday). Furthermore, the tickets have to be booked at least 21 days before departure.

Our calendar displays all available dates, as does Google Flights. You can either pay €1,499 on LOT’s website or save roughly €50 by booking through Skyscanner. Usually, we’d definitely recommend booking on the airline’s website, but I’ve never had problems with LOT tickets booked through online travel agencies, even when there were cancellations during the pandemic. So really both options are reasonable.

Mileage

The tickets are issued in booking class F. To give you an example, the entire trip from Madrid would get you:

Information & Tips for Japan

Japan offers a blend of modern cities and natural beauty, with highlights including Tokyo’s bustling urban landscape, Kyoto’s historic temples, Mount Fuji, and the hot springs of Hakone. The currency is the Japanese yen (JPY), and credit cards are widely accepted in urban areas, though cash is still common in rural regions. Japan can be pricey, especially in cities, with high costs for accommodation and dining, but budget options are available. The weather varies by region: summers are hot and humid, while winters can be cold, particularly in the north. The best time to visit is typically during spring (for cherry blossoms) or autumn (for fall foliage).

Japan’s transport infrastructure is highly efficient and easy to navigate. In cities like Tokyo and Osaka, the metro and train systems are extensive, punctual, and relatively easy to use, though they can get crowded during peak hours. Buses and taxis are also available, but less convenient for tourists. For intercity travel, Japan’s Shinkansen (bullet trains) are fast, comfortable, and reliable, though more expensive than other options. Buses and domestic flights are also available for longer distances, but trains remain the preferred choice for many travellers due to speed and convenience.
