Air Greenland: €201 One-Way Flights from Iqaliut, Canada to Nuuk, Greenland (Incl. Checked Bag)

Air Greenland Nuuk airport

Air Greenland will resume regular non-stop service from Canada to Greenland this summer. However, it will not be flying from Toronto or Montreal, but from Iqaluit (the capital of the territory of Nunavut) in the far north. As a result, the flight to Greenland’s capital, Nuuk, will only take about 2 hours, despite being operated with a Dash-8 turboprop.

For those interested in this exotic route, one-way tickets from Iqaluit to Nuuk are currently available from €201 (~CA$326). This includes one checked bag up to 20 kg. To get to Iqaluit, an award ticket is probably the best option. Tickets in the other direction, from Greenland to Iqaluit, are available from €259.

You can use the following form to book through Skyscanner. Below are the cheapest dates, marked in green. The route is paused between October 2025 and March 2026, resuming in April.

The flights are operated with Bombardier Dash-8-200 aircraft. These have 37 seats in the typical 2-2 seating arrangement. The distance between Iqaluit and Nuuk is only 822 kilometres.

It is unknown how long the prices will be available. Round-trip tickets cost exactly the same as two one-way tickets. You can find cheap dates using our form above or with Google Flights. You can then book the tickets for €201 through OTAs via Skyscanner. However, we recommend booking directly with Air Greenland for only slightly more, namely DKK 1,551 (~€208).

Getting to Iqaluit with an Award Ticket

Although Iqaluit is connected with daily flights to Ottawa, getting to the Canadian north is usually anything but cheap. The airline Canadian North charges a hefty €600 for a one-way ticket on the Boeing 737:

This would ruin any deal, of course. But luckily, there is a good way to book such tickets with frequent flyer miles. Through Air Canada Aeroplan, that same one-way ticket can be booked for just 10,000 miles plus CA$90 (~€56):

Air Canada miles are regularly available for purchase from about €1.30 per mile, which could be very worthwhile for this purpose. Currently, the needed 10,000 points would cost CA$350 (~€216). An alternative would be to transfer Marriott points at a 3:1 ratio (or 60,000 points = 25,000 miles thanks to a bonus).

From Greenland to Europe

A round trip on this route can make sense for North Americans, but for Europeans it is more attractive to fly directly from Greenland to Europe. Or for North Americans with enough time to combine this trip with an onward flight to Europe.

This is possible with Air Greenland or SAS with their non-stop flight from Copenhagen. Usually, these flights range between €300 to €600 one way, but on some dates in summer, you can find tickets for as little as €256.

Alternatively, you can book an award ticket with SAS EuroBonus starting from 15,000 points plus approximately €82 in taxes and fees. The alternative would be a €269 cash ticket (€296 incl. checked bags):
