Premium cruise operator Princess Cruises’ Diamond Princess will sail from Melbourne to Brisbane with a stop in Sydney in December. An inside cabin on that 4-day trip currently only costs €342 per person. The prices include taxes and fees, and full service, with tips being optional.
The inside cabin is around 15 m2 large. An outside cabin would be slightly larger and cost €447 per person. Travelling alone is not possible, you need to book for 2 passengers.
The Route
This is the exact itinerary for this relatively short cruise:
- December 7: Melbourne (departs at 17:00)
- December 8: At sea
- December 9: Sydney, Australia (7:00 – 19:00)
- December 10: At sea
- December 11: Brisbane (arrives at 7:00)
The Ship
Diamond Princess entered into service in 2004, joining its Gem-class sister ship, Sapphire Princess (technically, the Diamond was originally named Sapphire and vice versa). Compared to her age, she is still very stylish. Although, most people remember the ship’s name from something infamous: the COVID-19 quarantine.
But don’t worry: you will have a very enjoyable 4 days onboard, as there are many types of entertainment options. You can go to the theatre, pools, jacuzzis, gym or the spa: you won’t be bored at sea.
