The Ship

The Costa Fascinosa (Concordia class) was launched in 2012 and accommodates about 3,800 passengers and 1,100 crew members. It is 290 meters long and 32 meters wide, with a tonnage of 114,500, reaching a maximum speed of 23 knots. The ship is equipped with “Cold Ironing,” a shore power supply system that allows the engines to be turned off in ports to reduce emissions. The official onboard languages are Italian and English. The currency is the Euro.

The ship features 6 restaurants, with the buffet restaurant and main restaurant (with service) included in the price. You must pay for drinks at the 12 bars and speciality restaurants. However, the buffet restaurant has free water dispensers and also offers a type of “juice” and coffee/tea in the morning.

Additional paid amenities include a 4D cinema, shopping centre, casino, Grand Prix simulator, golf simulator, and a 6,000 square meter wellness area with a thalassotherapy pool, various treatment rooms, sauna, Turkish steam bath, and solarium.

For the little ones, there is a kids’ club with different age groups. There are both outdoor pools and an indoor pool with a retractable glass roof, which is very convenient in bad weather or colder regions. There are also whirlpools both indoors and outdoors.

Flights

The flights back from the Dominican Republic are not included in this deal. Currently, one of the best options seems to be flying from Santo Domingo to Barcelona with Iberia for €492, including luggage.
