Portuguese Star Alliance carrier TAP is currently selling its business class tickets from Montreal to Morocco at an unusually low price. You can either fly to Casablanca or Marrakech for merely CA$2,161 (~US$1,543). Furthermore, you can add a stopover in Lisbon of up to 5 days at no extra charge!

First, you will fly to Lisbon onboard an Airbus A321neo, equipped with lie-flat seats, alternating between 1-1 and 2-2 alignments. That flights takes roughly 6 hours. The flight from Lisbon to Morocco is rather short, taking slightly more than an hour.
Canadian citizens do not need a visa to enter Morocco, as long as they stay in the country for less than 90 days. They do, however, need to show a ticket, with which they intend to leave the country.
Not too long ago, TAP’s Executive Class was infamously subpar. By now, however, all planes have been equipped with new seats that can be converted into fully flat beds and offer quite a high comfort. Especially the Throne seat on the long-range A321 is top-notch, being twice as big as other seats.

This deal is set to expire on August 30, 2024 and is valid for trips that take place before March 31, 2025. You cannot, however, fly during Christmas (December 15 – January 13). Furthermore, your trip needs to last at least 5 days (or a Sunday) and no longer than one month.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
