American carrier jetBlue offers a status match for its TrueBlue loyalty program. If you hold a status with any of the seven major American aviation companies American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier, Southwest, Spirit or British Airways; you can receive Mosaic 1 or Mosaic 2 status for at least three months. The lower Mosaic 1 tier already grants benefits like priority services and two free checked bags.
jetBlue and Star Alliance member United Airlines have announced plans to link their loyalty programs. This partnership makes a jetBlue status more valuable, as you can enjoy perks like free hold bags or seat selection on United Airlines flights, as well. There is no set starting date for the link-up, but both airlines are positive it will happen within 2025.
If you earn 10 tiles (for Mosaic 1) or 25 tiles (for Mosaic 2) within those three months, your status is extended to the end of the following year. You earn 1 tile for every $100 spent on jetBlue tickets or services. According to the terms & conditions, only US residents can apply for the status match.

How to Apply
The first thing you need for the status match is a TrueBlue account. Joining the program is free.
To apply for the status match, you need a photo or screenshot of your current status. In case you want to apply for the higher Mosaic 2 tier, the airline also requests a ticket or boarding pass that shows your name and your status. You need to upload these after filling out the application form. Processing your application may take up to four weeks.
If your status match is granted, your account will be updated instantly. On this day, your three-month qualification period begins. You can only apply for the status match once every 24 months.

TrueBlue Status Benefits
Since jetBlue is not part of any major alliance, you won’t get perks like alliance-wide lounge access out of this match. It’s also notable that lounge access is not a part of either tier. However, you can enjoy the following perks.
Mosaic 1 benefits on jetBlue flights:
- Priority boarding
- Priority security (where available)
- Priority check-in
- Free same day flight changes (available 24 hours before original departure)
- 2 free checked bags
- Free Even More Space seats during check-in (Blue Basic fare excluded)
- 24/7 Mosaic support hotline
- Free beer, wine and liquor on board
Mosaic 2 benefits are almost exactly the same, except the Even More Space seats are already available for free at time of booking. However, this does not apply when you have booked the cheapest Blue Basic fare. You can find the full tier levels and benefits of the program here.
If you earn 40 tiles during the qualification period, you will receive an upgrade to Mosaic 3. Perks are like Mosaic 2, but include 4 upgrade vouchers from economy to business class.
When matching from American Airlines or Delta Air Lines to Mosaic 2 and earn 50 tiles until the end of the year, you will be upgraded to Mosaic 4. That means two additional upgrade vouchers and the chance to gift an TrueBlue elite status to a friend or family member. This offer only applies if you apply for the status match before June 30, 2025.

Bottom Line
If you are planning to travel with jetBlue within the next four months and are eligible for the match, applying is a no-brainer. You can save decent money on the free checked bags and also valuable time during check-in and security. Keeping the status is a different story, as you need to spend at least $1,000 on jetBlue tickets or $10,000 with a jetBlue credit card to maintain Mosaic 1 through the end of 2026. Given the airline’s current pricing, that’s two transatlantic roundtrips within three months to keep a status with valuable, but limited benefits.
Since you can apply only once every two years, it’s best to postpone the match if you have no flights with the airline lined up. Sadly, the match is currently limited to United States residents.
