American Airlines Business Class Window Seat

Aer Lingus and Oneworld members American Airlines & British Airways are offering a business class deal from Dublin to several destinations in the West Coast of the USA starting at just €1,356. This deal includes 2x32kg checked luggage and all the business class perks. Departures are available from February to July 2025.

These are some of the most interesting destinations of this deal, with a price cap of €1,400:

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Skyscanner with your selected flight dates. From there, you can proceed to British Airways or American or check what OTAs have to offer. Flights to Flagstaff show best availability on Expedia.

DUB BOI C 2024

Depending on your connections, you will fly directly from Dublin to the USA with Aer Lingus or American Airlines. You will continue from an American Airlines hub (most likely Chicago or Dallas) to your destination. Bear in mind that domestic flights in the USA in First Class offer recliner seats, not lie-flat seats like those on the intercontinental segments.

If your flights are with British Airways, you will have an extra change of planes in London Heathrow. The short flight between Dublin and London takes place in British Airways’ Club Europe or Aer Lingus economy class.

Even if American Airlines doesn’t enjoy a good reputation for many, its business class is very good. Every seat on wide-body planes has direct access to the aisle and the service, as well as the food and the seat, are at a very high standard. Travel-Dealz founder Johannes tested the Boeing 777 and really enjoyed the flight.

British Airways was one of the first airlines to offer lie-flat seats – over 20 years ago. And they still continue to be up to date with the newest trends, each seat offering direct access to the aisle. Their best seats are the Club Suites that offer a lot of privacy – but the older seats are fine as well. A general downside at British Airways: there is no free seat reservation, which is unusual for a business class.

Visa Info

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$21 (~€19) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.

There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.

Search & Book

This deal will expire on October 1, 2024. A minimum Saturday overnight stay and a maximum stay of twelve months apply. Departures are available from February to July 2025.

You can find suitable dates using our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights. We recommend booking directly on British Airways’ or American’s website, but you can find cheaper prices with Skyscanner. Some online travel agencies try to sneak economy class segments in your itinerary.

We have found Expedia to be some of the more straight-forward options, as they will place you in business class as often as possible. Especially on flights to Flagstaff, Expedia is the best option. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Information & Tips for USA

The United States offers a wide range of tourist sights, from national parks like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), and card payments are widely accepted. Prices vary by region but can be high in major cities, especially for accommodation and dining. Weather differs greatly across the country—winters can be harsh in the north, while the south often stays mild; summers are generally hot and humid in many areas.

The U.S. transport infrastructure is highly car-dependent, especially outside major cities. Urban centres like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco have functional public transit, but many other cities have limited options. Between cities, domestic flights are common for long distances, while intercity buses and Amtrak trains cover some routes, though often with slower speeds and less frequency compared to other countries. Without a car, getting around can be inconvenient in many parts of the country.

AY and IB flights can be included as well, just a few extra taxes.
