The Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) are a selection of more than 500 resort and boutique hotels across the globe, aiming to celebrate their individuality by bonding together under a recognizable brand name. Said brand has recently overhauled its loyalty program and re-branded it under the name of Club SLH. Even basic members are rewarded with perks like early check-in, late check-out and complimentary drinking water. Given that prices for the majority of these hotels start north of €300/night, these do not seem like lavish extras.

The new SLH club comes in three tier levels, with the lowest Club 01 available right after signing up.
- Club 01 (0-3 nights/year)
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Complimentary in-room water
- Early check-in (if available)
- Late check-out (if available)
- Special member rates
- Club 02 (4-12 nights/year)
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Complimentary in-room water
- Early check-in (if available)
- Late check-out (if available)
- Free continental breakfast for two
- Room upgrade (if available)
- Even better member rates
- Club 03 (13+ nights/year)
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Complimentary in-room water
- Early check-in (if available)
- Late check-out (if available)
- Free continental breakfast for two
- $300 Reward Night Voucher
- Monthly Free Night Lottery
- Room upgrade (if available)
All-in-all, the promised perks are not really anything to write home about. While free breakfast after 4 nights seems like a nice perk, there is no mention how the continental breakfast differs from the regular breakfast. The most notable benefit of Club 03 level is the $300 voucher – though you probably have to spend more than $4,000 to get your hands on it.
After signing up for the program, you can also select personal travel preferences and receive suggestions. The so-called perks also include “exclusive” offers for excursions or magazines (aka advertisements).
More than half of SLH hotels (390 in total) are also part of Hilton Honors and bookable via Hilton’s website, by both points and cash. To enjoy benefits at those hotels, you can also participate in Hilton’s status match challenge:
