Some connections require a long layover in Shanghai on the inbound (up to eleven hours). However, you can get a Chinese transit visa or enter the country visa-free (e.g. if you are from Hungary) to explore the city during that time.

You will first fly with Shanghai Airlines from Budapest to Shanghai. These flights use a Boeing 787 with a 3-3-3 configuration. The legroom is 79 centimeters on average. All seats are equipped with an HD screen for inflight entertainment.

From Shanghai, you will usually continue with China Eastern to your booked destination in Japan. On these short-haul routes, you will be traveling with aircraft from the Airbus A320 family or a Boeing 737. In some cases, an Airbus A330 from China Eastern is used, or the second leg is also operated by Shanghai Airlines.

The flight duration between Budapest and Shanghai is about 11 hours. After the layover in Shanghai, you have to calculate about 2 more hours of flight time to Japan. Stopovers are unfortunately not permitted as part of this offer.
