The MSC Fantasia will spend the upcoming winter season in the Mediterranean, with embarkation options in various cities and countries. This helps better distribute the boarding and disembarkation processes along with passenger numbers. You can currently secure a balcony cabin for a one-week Mediterranean cruise, starting and ending in Barcelona, for as low as €489 per person. If a private balcony isn’t important to you, an interior cabin can be booked starting at €429 per person.

The listed prices include all meals in the main and buffet restaurants, as well as gratuities for the crew. Furthermore, cold and hot water, coffee, tea, and milk are available in the buffet area all day.

The cheapest dates are the following:

  • January 11 – 18
  • January 18 – 25

You also have the option to book this cruise with the All Inclusive package at a special price, granting you access to a selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, such as soft drinks, beer, wine, and selected cocktails throughout the trip.

Including the drinks package, the following prices apply to each cabin category:

  • Interior cabin from €563 per person
  • Oceanview cabin from €673 per person
  • Balcony cabin from €703 per person

Please note that the reduced drinks package price only applies if booked along with the cruise. Otherwise, the regular price of €39 per person per day applies if added later or on board.

The Route

The cruise begins in Barcelona, the main economic hub of Catalonia, which offers a variety of attractions for tourists, such as the Picasso Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the National Art Museum of Catalonia. The city’s most famous landmark is the Sagrada Familia Cathedral. After leaving the port, the ship will cruise to Marseille, then on to Genoa, the capital of Liguria in northern Italy, known for its grand churches and palaces.

Next, the MSC Fantasia sails to Naples, where you can enjoy authentic Italian pizza in the old town. The following day, the destination is Palermo on the island of Sicily, whose historic centre is among the largest in Europe. The final stop is the seaside town of La Goulette in northeastern Tunis. The capital city of Tunisia is only a few kilometres away and can be explored on a day trip. After a week, the cruise concludes in Barcelona.

The Ship

The MSC Fantasia was built by the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard, launched in 2008, and renovated in 2015. It is 38 meters wide and 333 meters long, has 18 decks, and can accommodate nearly 3,500 passengers and 1,400 crew members.

The ship features two main restaurants and one buffet restaurant. The “Galaxy” restaurant, which offers interesting Asian fusion cuisine, is highly recommended as an optional extra-charge dining option, with not only fantastic views over the ship and surroundings but also excellent food. Additionally, there are 12 bars and lounges.

In addition to a spa, fitness area, and various cultural and recreational offerings, there is also a 120-meter waterslide near the funnel.

A casino, cinema, basketball court, tennis court, outdoor jogging track, bowling alley, and four pools (one covered) provide diverse entertainment options.

The onboard language is English and the onboard currency is the euro. Cabins are at least 16 square meters and include a safe, air conditioning, telephone, television, and minibar.
