There’s an attractive offer for a transatlantic cruise in April 2026. The Costa Diadema will be transferred from Brazil to Kiel (~90 km from Hamburg). For the 25 nights on board, including all meals and gratuities, you’ll currently pay €1,589 per person for an inside cabin. If you wish to have all drinks included as well, you can book the All-Inclusive package for €2,164 per person (i.e. a €23 surcharge per day).

These prices are per person, based on double occupancy. If you don’t opt for the all-inclusive package, you’ll only get free water and tea in the buffet restaurant.

The Ship
The Costa Diadema, launched in late 2014, was Costa Cruises’ largest vessel at the time and soon became known as the “Queen of the Mediterranean”. Stretching roughly 306 m with over 132,500 GT, she carries up to 4,947 guests serviced by around 1,253 crew across 15 passenger decks—an expansive ship built with Italian flair and plentiful amenities.

On board, a sweeping external promenade on deck 5 spans over 500 meters alongside bars, restaurants, and lounge spaces that evoke a seaside resort in Italy—sunset cocktails, Italian-style terraces, and panoramic views included
The cruise line is known for competitive prices, though drinks packages often raise the total cost beyond the advertised rate. Service feedback varies—while many enjoy the value and friendly staff, others report crowding on sea days, chaotic embarkation at times, and inconsistent organisation during transitions and port operations.

In summary, the Costa Diadema offers a broad offering of onboard dining, entertainment, and wellness options with an Italian-styled, resort-like ambience. She suits passengers seeking variety and affordability. However, those expecting upscale polish or personalised luxury may find service inconsistencies and high crowd density at lower fare categories offsetting the appeal.
Flights
The flights to Rio de Janeiro are not included in this deal. Currently, the cheapest option is flying with Avianca from Madrid. They charge €378, including luggage, to Rio de Janeiro’s RIOgaleão International Airport. Another option is flying with Azul. They charge €412 (also including luggage) to Rio de Janeiro’s Santos Dumont Airport (i.e. the centrally located airport).
