LuxuryEscapes currently offers a great deal for the OUTRIGGER Maldives Maafushivaru Resort on the Maldive Islands. You can rent a large over-water villa for as little as €790 per night, when staying at least five nights. That is already a fairly decent price by itself, but the list of included amenities makes it even better. Not only is the notoriously expensive transport for two persons already included, the deal also makes breakfast, lunch, dinner and select beverages consumed during meal-times free of charge. The offer is more than 50% cheaper than a comparable rate on the hotel’s website.
The rate is available until November 10, 2024 for travel in the remainder of 2024 and from May through July next year, with prices rising up to €150 per night during the winter and early spring.

LuxuryEscapes Cancellation Policy
LuxuryEscapes offers a rather complicated cancellation policy. It basically comes in three steps:
- Until 7 days after booking: You get a full refund in your original payment form. This is the last chance to get your money back.
- Until 22 days before your stay: You can get a full refund in form of a LuxuryEscapes credit. You won’t get your money back, but can use it to book a different hotel on LuxuryEscapes.
- Three weeks before you stay: You won’t get a refund in any form if you cancel or no-show.
The offer is valid for stays at one of the Maldives’ famous over water villas. The villa itself is comparable to a large luxury hotel room, coming with a modern bathroom with both shower and tub, and a large bedroom with an over water day bed. You can also find usual goodies like air conditioning and a coffee machine at your disposal.

The Hotel
The OUTRIGGER Maldives Maafushivaru Resort is located roughly 100km Southwest of Male Island island and its international airport. The entire island of Maafushivaru is occupied by the resort. During your stay, you can choose between six restaurants and bars. The complimentary breakfast and dinner are served at the Cuisine Gallery buffet restaurant, while the Edgewater serves lunch.
Part of the deal is also a 50% discount on the speciality restaurants Kotu, Arti-San and Moodhu Grill. When applying the discount, main courses price out at roughly US$20 (~€17), giving you a decent alternative to the included meals. You can check out the menus at the hotel’s website.

If you are currently not eating or enjoying the stunning beauty when looking out of your villa’s window, you can enjoy many more of the resort’s offerings. You can choose between diving courses, included water sport activities and even a gym. Also, the island is surrounded by beaches, giving you plenty of opportunity to dive into the water or take jealousy inducing photos. A sunset cruise is also included in the price.
Seaplane transport from Male airport to the resort is only available until 15.30. If your flight arrives later, you need to book accommodation on Male island and start your trip to Maafushivaru the next day.
Previous guests have left outstanding reviews for the resort (e.g. 4.8/5 on Google or 5/5 on Tripadvisor), though the number of reviews is comparatively small on Google (250). They are overwhelmingly positive, making it hard to find recurring points of criticism. The only thing mentioned on multiple occasions was, that the hotel staff was a bit slow notifying guests of schedule changes (to diving tours or prearranged dinners) because of weather conditions. Other than that, guests were raving about the beautiful island, great rooms and superb quality of food.

Price Check
The best part of this deal is comparing the price offered by LuxuryEscapes to other vendors. As mentioned earlier, the deal comes at cost at €790 per night (at least €3,949 in total). When booking the same number of nights on the hotel’s website, the closest price you get is US$4,361 (~€3,721), including transfers. However, this rate does not include lunch, drinks or discounts at the other restaurants. It is also prepaid and non-refundable.
Making the offer refundable up to 15 days prior to arrival increases the price to US$6,407 (~€5,466). Adding the option for lunch and free drinks during meal time also adds US$164 (~€140) per person, per day. The slightly better value all-inclusive option (that also includes drinks between meals) is still far more expensive at US$9,362 (~€7,987):

Third party providers like booking.com charge €5,790 for the same room on the same dates with worse amenities. And you’d still be paying almost €2,000 more than on Luxury Escapes.

If you are planning a stay on the Maldives in one of the famous water villas, this is one of the best deals currently available.
