Copenhagen – Seoul: SAS to Debut Flights to Korea in September 2025

A few weeks ago, SAS Scandinavian Airlines discontinued its Copenhagen–Shanghai route. As a result, only two routes to Asia remain: Copenhagen–Tokyo and Copenhagen–Bangkok.

However, there is a silver lining. Yesterday, SAS announced the launch of a new Asia route. Starting in September 2025, the newly minted SkyTeam member plans to offer regular direct flights from Denmark to South Korea. Flights between the two capitals are scheduled to operate three to four times a week.

Seoul-Incheon Airport, the sixth-largest in Asia by passenger volume, will provide connections to numerous flights operated by SkyTeam partner Korean Air and other affiliated airlines.

Flight Schedule

The inaugural flight from Copenhagen to Seoul is set for September 12, 2025. The route will be serviced by Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which have a total of 300 seats: 42 in business class, 32 in premium economy, and 228 in economy class. The flight duration is approximately 12 to 13 hours.

During the summer schedule (until the end of October), there will be four weekly flights: departures from Copenhagen on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with return flights the following day:

• SK 987 Copenhagen CPH – Seoul ICN: 23:40 – 18:15 ⁽⁺¹⁾
• SK 988 Seoul ICN – Copenhagen CPH: 23:45 – 06:05 ⁽⁺¹⁾

In the winter schedule, flights will be reduced to three per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays) with slightly adjusted times:

• SK 987 Copenhagen CPH – Seoul ICN: 23:10 – 18:45 ⁽⁺¹⁾
• SK 988 Seoul ICN – Copenhagen CPH: 23:45 – 05:25 ⁽⁺¹⁾

Tickets for this new route are now available on flysas.com. Current round-trip fares are approximately:

• €600 in economy class without luggage, e.g. from Rome, Athens or Dublin
• €690 in economy class with 23 kg of luggage, e.g. from Rome, Athens or Dublin
• €925 in premium economy, e.g. from Rome, Athens, Dublin, or Brussels
• €2,875 in business class, e.g. from Helsinki

These prices are not particularly enticing at the moment, and it’s expected that better deals will surface before September. As of November 29, there is unfortunately no availability for award flights.
