In early 2025, the MSC Fantasia’s Western Mediterranean route gets a nice discount. Instead of costing e.g. €809 like in April, you would only pay €349 per person. While the weather is colder, the ship is just as beautiful, and so are the cities in Tunisia, Spain, France, and Italy that you’d be visiting.

The price includes all meals, tips, and water, coffee, tea, and milk, all day in the buffet area. The cheapest dates are:

  • January 15 – 22: €349 pp
  • January 29 – February 5: €379 pp

The Route

This itinerary offers a diverse and enriching Mediterranean experience. Starting in Palermo, you’ll sail to La Goulette, Tunis, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture and history. After a day at sea, the journey continues to Barcelona, a city renowned for its distinctive architecture and vibrant energy.

From there, you’ll visit Marseille, a city that blends historical landmarks with scenic coastal charm, followed by Genoa, known for its medieval streets and maritime heritage. The itinerary also includes a stop in Naples, offering opportunities to explore its rich history, famous cuisine, and views of Mount Vesuvius. The trip concludes back in Palermo, bringing this well-rounded Mediterranean journey to an end.

  • Day 1: Palermo (departs at 18:00)
  • Day 2: La Goulette, Tunis (9 hours)
  • Day 3: At sea
  • Day 4: Barcelona (10 hours)
  • Day 5: Marseille (9 hours)

  • Day 7: Naples (7 hours)
  • Day 8: Palermo (arrives at 9:00)

The Ship

The MSC Fantasia was put into service in 2008 and is 333 meters long and 38 meters wide. The ship can go up to 23 knots fast. There are several outdoor pools, an aqua park with water slides, and various bars and restaurants. A total of up to 3,300 guests can be on the ship. There is also a theatre, cigar lounge, spa, kids club and casino. So you won’t get bored that quickly. The main language onboard is English, but the staff usually speaks Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. The onboard currency for this cruise is Euro.
