LuxuryEscapes Cancellation Policy
LuxuryEscapes offers a rather complicated cancellation policy. It basically comes in three steps:
- Until 7 days after booking: You get a full refund in your original payment form. This is the last chance to get your money back.
- over 46 days before your stay: You can get a full refund in form of a LuxuryEscapes credit. You won’t get your money back, but can use it to book a different hotel on LuxuryEscapes.
- Less than 45 days before you stay: You won’t get a refund in any form if you cancel or no-show.
The cheapest room available is a 87m², two story Beach Villa. The upper level has a bedroom and small bathroom, while the main bath is at the ground floor. There you can also find a living area with a sofa and a terrace with direct beach access.

The Resort
The Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives is located roughly 100km Southwest of Male Island island and its international airport. The entire island of the aptly named Centara Grand Island is occupied by the resort. During your stay, you can choose between six restaurants and bars. The complimentary breakfast is served at the Reef buffet restaurant, where you can also have dinner. If you would like something else in the evening, you can also have a three-course-meal at the Mare Azurro (Italian) or Suan Bua (Thai) speciality restaurants. Cocktails, snacks and drinks at the Coral or Aqua bars are not included in the cheapest package.
Apart from relaxing at your villa, eating or enjoying the beauty of the island, you can also engage in plenty of activities. Renting out non-motorized water equipment is free, as is an included tour in a water bottom kayak. The island also has a public pool close to the beach, alongside a gym and a tennis court.
Seaplane transport from Male airport to the resort is only available until 15.30. If your flight arrives later, you need to book accommodation on Male island and start your trip to Maafushivaru the next day.
Previous guests have left favourable reviews for the resort (e.g. 4.7/5 on Google or 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor). Common points of criticism are bad value-for-money (which shouldn’t be an issue with this deal) and the lack of variety of food options. That being said, the quality was regularly praised. While praising the location of a Maldives resort is common, in this case the visible sea life visiting the waters around the island was mentioned on multiple occasions.
Price Check
The best part of this deal is comparing the price offered by LuxuryEscapes to other vendors. As mentioned earlier, the deal comes at cost at €500 per night (at least €2,499 in total). When booking the same number of nights on the hotel’s website, the closest price you get is €5,099, for roughly the same inclusions: breakfast, dinner, water sports and transport from and to the resort (which is billed separately on their website).
The Grand All-Inclusive package, which is available for €3,429 via LuxuryEscapes, comes with a €6,348 price-tag on Centara’s website. The only advantage of this rate is that it is refundable in the original form of payment until seven days before arrival.
Third party providers like booking.com charge €4,957 (including transfers) for the same room on the same dates with worse amenities. And you’d still be paying almost €2,500 more than on Luxury Escapes.
