The Route
From the beautiful city of Hamburg (departure on October 5), the journey includes six stops in Europe before heading through Madeira and Tenerife to Rio. The Atlantic crossing involves six consecutive sea days and four more sea days during the rest of the journey. The ship then travels via Salvador, Ilhéus, and Búzios, arriving in Rio de Janeiro on October 25 at 8:00 AM.

The Ship
The MSC Preziosa, part of the Fantasia class, was built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard, launched in 2013, and renovated in 2016. It is 38 meters wide, and 333 meters long, has 18 decks, and can accommodate nearly 3,500 passengers and 1,400 crew members.
The ship features two main restaurants and a buffet restaurant. For an additional fee, the “Galaxy” restaurant, offering intriguing Asian fusion cuisine, is highly recommended—not only for its excellent food but also for its stunning views of the ship and surroundings. There are also 12 bars and lounges, where you can enjoy beer, wine, cocktails, or soft drinks.
In addition to the spa and fitness area, as well as various cultural and recreational activities, there is a waterslide measuring 120 meters in length.
Other onboard amenities include a casino, cinema, basketball court, tennis court, outdoor jogging track, bowling alley, and four pools (one of which is covered), offering a wide range of entertainment options.
The onboard language is English. The onboard currency is the euro. Interestingly, the ship was originally ordered by the Libyan government but was later sold to MSC.
The cabins are at least 16 square meters and are equipped with a safe, air conditioning, telephone, television, and minibar.
Flying back from Brazil
The flights are not included. To get back to Europe from Brazil, you should count on spending roughly €500 for economy tickets that include luggage, or roughly €1,100 for premium economy tickets. Here are some current price examples:

The price includes the onboard service charge which is equal to the daily gratuities for all crew members. If you have no drinks package purchased, you need to pay an additional 15% bar service charge for every drink that you order at the bar.
The deposit for this cruise would be 20% of the voyage fare and is not refundable even if you cancel this cruise in time. Up to 90 before departure, the cancellation fee would be the same amount as the deposit payment.
You can buy an internet package in advance which would be significantly cheaper. You have the choice between these packages:

These packages are valid for the whole duration of your cruise and would be the best choice on a Transatlantic cruise when considering the higher amount of sea days.
You are correct, all taxes and port charges are included in the prices shown on our website.
There are no discounts for passengers over 65, however you can benefit from 5% club discount if you are a member of MSC Voyagers Club and have travelled with MSC at least once in the past.

€ 11 or more per day n pax when on board ? Correct ?
The deposit n cancellation issue is a problem as Princess
Cruise n others are more flexible n customer friendly.
It means than that I would either lose the full deposit
or later 50 % or more depending on cancellation date.
And if we don,t want Wifi package, we can still
use the internet cafe based on time or daily package.

Yes, this is correct. Our prices on the website include the daily gratuities which are called hotel service charge by MSC.
If you don’t want to pre-book an internet package, you still have the choice to book any of the available packages while you are onboard. Just keep in mind that these packages will be more expensive considering value for money and this normally only makes sense if you are planning to access the internet very rarely during your cruise but this is up to you.
Please keep in mind that the cheapest balcony cabin for 1.869€ per person would be a guarantee cabin where you cannot choose the cabin number as well as the cabin location on your own. This will be assigned by MSC if you book a BELLA cabin. In case you want to choose the cabin number by yourself, you need to book a FANTASTICA cabin, for example category BM1 on deck 9 to 11 for 2.069€ per person.
The cancellation rules of MSC apply in all cases, except there is a travel warning in place for one or more destinations that you are going to visit during your cruise. Therefore, we recommend a travel insurance which is going to cover the cancellation costs in case you are not able to travel. If there is an official travel warning from the local authorities, the cruise company might offer rebooking or cancellation options. It could also be an option to change the itinerary in cases like this.

The Browse internet package for 1 device is available for pre-booking at a price of 160 EUR. It is valid for the whole duration of the cruise and includes unlimited data. It is not possible to use streaming services with this package.
