Sun Princess

Princess Cruises are usually rather expensive. Currently, however, you can book a 7-night cruise from Piraeus (~10 km from Athens) to Barcelona for only €638 €561(!) per person. Not only that, you’d even be onboard the Sun Princess, one of the biggest ships in the fleet, launched just recently in 2024. There are two available dates in June.

The Route

This itinerary starts in Piraeus, the port city near Athens, offering easy access to historic sites like the Acropolis. From there, it travels to Chania on the island of Crete, known for its old town and harbour with Venetian influences. After a day at sea, the ship stops in Bar, Montenegro, a smaller coastal town with a mix of modern and historic areas. The next port is Corfu, Greece, where the old town reflects a blend of Venetian, French, and British history. In Sicily, the stop in Messina allows time to visit landmarks such as the cathedral and the famous astronomical clock. Another day at sea provides a break before arriving in Barcelona, Spain, a city with a mix of modernist architecture, lively neighbourhoods, and seaside atmosphere.

Here’s the exact itinerary:

  • Day 1: Piraeus (departs at 19:00)
  • Day 2: Chania, Crete (7:00 – 19:00)
  • Day 3: At sea
