The Costa Pacifica will be deployed for cruises in the Caribbean next winter, sailing from the Dominican Republic to various islands in the Caribbean. Before that, there will first be an Atlantic crossing from Savona to La Romana in early December 2025. You can currently book an inside cabin from just €699 per person. However, the oceanview cabins cost just €749 or the balcony cabins from €999 (each per person based on double occupancy) are significantly more interesting in terms of price. Unfortunately, this offer is currently not available for solo travellers.
On board the ship, you’ll enjoy full board with all meals in the main and buffet restaurants. Furthermore, gratuities for the crew members are already included in the price. The same applies to the use of most onboard facilities (gym, theatre shows, various activities, live music, etc.).

Itinerary
The cruise begins in the northern Italian port city of Savona on the Ligurian coast. In the early evening, the Costa Pacifica will leave the port and heads to its first stop, Marseille. There, the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde is one of the most important landmarks. Additionally, excursions to the surrounding area, such as to Aix-en-Provence, are a great option. The journey then continues to Barcelona. Here, you shouldn’t miss a tour of the Sagrada Família and a visit to Parc Güell.
After that, you will visit Cádiz in the south of mainland Spain. The cruise continues to Santa Cruz in Tenerife. The Canary Islands have a mild climate year-round and are therefore also known as the “Islands of Eternal Spring.” Those who want to relax on the beach can do so at Playa de las Teresitas, which is accessible from the port by public bus without any transfers on line 910. Alternatively, you can take a 45-minute tram ride to visit La Laguna, the old capital of the island, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
This is followed by six sea days on the Atlantic before the ship reaches the port of Bridgetown, Barbados. The city is characterized by its British colonial architecture. Barbados also boasts one of the largest caves in the Caribbean and one of the most renowned tropical gardens in the world. After a final sea day, the Costa Pacifica arrives in La Romana, where your cruise ends.

Costa Pacifica
The Costa Pacifica was completed in 2009 at the Fincantieri shipyard and renovated in 2017. It measures 290 meters in length and 36 meters in width. This ship (Concordia class) reaches a maximum speed of 23 knots with a tonnage of 114,500. It can accommodate just over 3,000 passengers and 1,100 crew members at double occupancy across 13 decks.
The Pacifica is a multifunctional ship with retractable roofs over two pool areas, allowing it to sail in colder regions as well. In warmer climates, guests can enjoy a spacious pool and sun deck along with a large slide. Additionally, there is a theater, a nightclub, a fitness center, a sports court, an outdoor jogging track, and much more.
The buffet area is located inside the ship, but there is also the option to dine outdoors just a few steps away. The main restaurant can be found at the stern on Decks 3 and 4. With the right seat, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the ship’s wake.
In addition, there are paid specialty restaurants (such as Japanese and Italian) and 13 bars. For an additional fee, the ship also features a spa and wellness area (approximately 6,000 square meters), a Grand Prix simulator, a sound studio, and a casino.
All Costa ships offer German guests a German-speaking onboard service, complementing the official onboard languages of Italian and English. The currency used on board is the Euro.

Arrival and Departure
The nearest airport to reach Savona is Genoa, but the low-cost options are quite limited. The closest alternatives are Turin, Milan Malpensa, Milan Bergamo, Pisa, or Nice, with an average travel time of three to four hours from these airports to Savona.
The return from the Dominican Republic is slightly more complicated. La Romana airport has limited flights, so you will need to fly from Santo Domingo or Punta Cana. The most economical option is to catch the Expreso Bávaro bus; it will take about an hour to get to Punta Cana and around two hours to reach Santo Domingo. You can also hire a private transfer.
If you are flying from Santo Domingo airport, we recommend staying in the coastal town of Boca Chica to be close to the airport and enjoy the Caribbean without dealing with the traffic of the Dominican capital. If you are flying on the same day, you can even get a day pass for a hotel.
We have looked for the most economical options after the cruise with direct flights to Europe so you can be back for Christmas and you can fly from Punta Cana to Madrid for €334 on December 23, or with Iberia from Santo Domingo one-way to most European destinations around €500, e.g Milan at €534 or Amsterdam at €532.
