Deals, That Didn’t Make the Site This Week: 4 Nights at the Burj Al Arab, Lufthansa Group to Tel Aviv & More

burj al arab dubai

Every day of the week, the routine of Travel-Dealz editors begins with combing through countless offers and suggesting them to our colleagues. After evaluating them, only the best deals make it on our homepage and into our newsletter. In this post, we want to shine a light on offers that were discussed, but ultimately disregarded. But just because we didn’t feel they would be interesting for a broader audience, it doesn’t mean that some people won’t cherish them.

Info

In this section, you can’t expect our usual service – we will give one example for each deal. We can only give hints about details like availability, travel period, other origins/destinations or fare rules.

Four Nights at the Burj Al Arab for €3,677

The Burj Al Arab in Dubai might be the most famous hotel in the world. You can currently book it with a 20% discount compared to the hotel’s rate via ASMALLWORLD, if you stay at least four nights. The offer requires a yearly membership for the site, costing €79/$99.

ASW Burj Al Arab

Reason it wasn’t on the site: It’s still so friggin’ expensive! The minimum stay doesn’t help, either: Most people who want to treat themselves to the hotel as a one-off experience will actually prefer staying a night or two – instead of spending another month’s salary for two additional nights.

Lufthansa Group from Spain to Israel

Austrian, Swiss and Lufthansa are currently selling discounted tickets from Spain to Tel Aviv for €200 or less, the cheapest flights are available from Valencia.

OS VLC TLV 174

Reason it wasn’t on the site: Despite the end of (one of) Israel’s many military conflicts in the past two years looming on the horizon, it still seems a very shaky proposition travelling to Tel Aviv – regardless of the price-tag.

British Airways Introduces New Premium Economy Seat

…and they did it via a LinkedIn post. A BA executive shared pics from a refurbished Boeing 787-9 on a social network, lauding the new seat and engineers involved in the process. BoardingGroupOne put up a comprehensive article about both what happened and the chair in question.

Reason it wasn’t on the site: British Airways now has three different premium economy products across their fleet, as their Boeing 787, Airbus A350-1000 and the rest of the fleet now carry different cabins and seats. It just did not seem like a really big deal to us.

IHG’s Points Sale With a Bonus Ends Today

IHG, home to brands like InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn, currently sells points with a 100% bonus – an opportunity to buy hotel nights with a decent discount. Their current sale ends tonight.

Reason it wasn’t on the site: These sales are quite regular, the next one probably starts within a month.
