MSC Divina: 15-Night Transatlantic Cruise from Miami to Rome in April for €805 pp in an Oceanview Cabin

"di lisbon aerial 02.jpg"

With the MSC Divina from MSC Cruises, you can embark on a transatlantic cruise in April 2026. The journey takes you from Miami to Civitavecchia (near Rome) and includes numerous stops in the Caribbean and Europe. The current price of €47 per night is a true bargain for an inside cabin on a transatlantic route.

You can currently book the 15-night cruise in an inside cabin from just €715 per person. However, the oceanview cabins from €805 and balcony cabins from €1,003 are significantly more appealing (prices per person based on double occupancy). Solo travellers can join the cruise in an inside cabin from €1,205.

Warning

When booking from CruiseDirect, you will have to pay gratuities (US$17 (~€15)) per day, while with Travel-Dealz, gratuities are included in the price.

The cruise price includes full board in the main and buffet restaurants, as well as coffee, water, tea, and iced tea during the buffet’s opening hours. Most onboard facilities and activities (e.g., use of sun loungers and pools on the outer deck, shows in the theatre, gym, etc.) are also included in the package.

If you live in Europe, we recommend booking through Travel-Dealz, and if you live in the USA, book via CruiseDirect, as long as the price difference is not significant. If the difference is considerable, you can choose the cheaper option, but keep in mind that the consumer guarantees are different for Americans and Europeans.

Route

Your cruise begins in Miami. The metropolis in the Sunshine State of Florida is particularly important for cruise passengers, as it has the world’s largest deep-sea cruise ship port. It’s worth spending a few days here before embarkation. This will give you enough time to visit one of the many museums. The Little Havana district and the Everglades National Park are also worth seeing. The MSC Divina leaves the port in the evening and heads south.

The first stop is the island of Tortola. The island’s capital, Road Town, offers various historical sights, including the Old Government House. Those who prefer to relax on a beautiful sandy beach can do so at Cane Garden Bay on the island’s north coast. An alternative is Smuggler’s Cove, which is accessible by ferry from Road Town.

Afterwards, you can look forward to six relaxing sea days on board. This time is ideal for relaxing and being pampered on the MSC Divina. On day 11, you will reach Tenerife. There you can take a walk through the island’s capital, Santa Cruz. The island is also home to Teide, the highest mountain in Spain.

After two more sea days and a journey through the Strait of Gibraltar, you will arrive in Barcelona. The Catalan metropolis is one of Europe’s most popular travel destinations all year round, thanks to sights such as the Sagrada Família and Park Güell. The last stop is Cannes. There, you shouldn’t miss the famous promenade La Croisette. The shopping streets Rue d’Antibes & Rue Meynadier feature several luxury boutiques. After 15 nights, the cruise ends in Civitavecchia.

Visa Info

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$21 (~€19) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.

There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.

The Ship

The MSC Divina was launched in 2012 and refurbished in 2017. On board, you’ll have several free dining options: Black Crab, Villa Rossa, and Calumet and Manitou Buffets. Furthermore, you can get croissants in the morning at the Divina Bar and Caffe Italia. There’s also free soft ice cream at the Aqua Park and free popcorn at night. Last but not least, you can also eat a continental breakfast in your own cabin.

Speaking of cabins, the MSC Divina cabins are quite large. Balcony cabins also have sofas instead of armchairs. The highlight of the ship’s amenities is its infinity pool.

Overall, the MSC Divina offers excellent entertainment options, though other cruise lines may offer more culinary variety. Still, if you like Italian design (and the low price), you’ll enjoy the ship.

Getting There & Back

The cruise starts in Miami and ends in Civitavecchia (Rome), so you will need to book two one-way flights. For getting to Florida, you could, for example, fly with British Airways from Berlin on April 7, 2026. This flight is currently available from €424 with 23 kg checked luggage):
