With the Carnival Radiance from Carnival Cruise Line, you can embark on a cruise along the Mexican Riviera in the coming months. The journey takes you from Los Angeles to the Mexican Riviera, with stops in Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada. The current price of €39 per night is a true bargain for such a scenic route.
You can currently book a 5-night cruise in an inside cabin from just €194 per person. However, the oceanview cabins from €259 and balcony cabins from €403 are significantly more appealing (prices per person based on double occupancy). Solo travellers can join the cruise in an inside cabin from €356.

The cruise price includes full board in the main and buffet restaurants, as well as coffee, water, tea, and iced tea during the buffet’s opening hours. Most onboard facilities and activities (e.g., use of sun loungers and pools on the outer deck, shows in the theatre, gym, etc.) are also included in the package.
Carnival adds an automatic crew gratuity of US$16 (~€14) per person, per day to your onboard account.
If you live in Europe, we recommend booking through Travel-Dealz, and if you live in the USA, book via CruiseDirect, as long as the price difference is not significant. If the difference is considerable, you can choose the cheaper option, but keep in mind that the consumer guarantees are different for Americans and Europeans.

Route
The cruise departs from Long Beach on the US West Coast, which is the port for Los Angeles. While there, you can visit the historic Queen Mary, a former ocean liner now serving as a floating hotel. The city also boasts a 12-kilometer-long sandy beach and the impressive Aquarium of the Pacific.
Your first port of call is Cabo San Lucas, located at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Gulf of California. The city’s most famous landmark is the stunning rock formation, El Arco. If you’re traveling between mid-December and mid-March, you’re in for a treat, as it’s the perfect season for whale watching tours where you might spot humpback whales.
Next, the ship sails to Ensenada. A highly recommended excursion here is a visit to La Bufadora, the second-largest marine geyser in the world. Ensenada is also a paradise for sports enthusiasts, offering activities such as surfing, kayaking, horseback riding, fishing, and mountain biking. After 5 nights, the cruise concludes back in Long Beach.

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$21 (~€19) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.
There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.
